Title: Police Clearance Post by: Dingo on June 02, 2003, 04:00:00 AM Help, My wife's sister is going to marry an
American. She worked in Saudi Arabia before. Does she need any paper work from Saudi Arabia to process her Spousal Visa? She is now working in London but is a Filipino Citizen. Thanks Title: Negative Post by: Ray on June 02, 2003, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Police Clearance, posted by Dingo on Jun 2, 2003
According to the State Dept, the police clearance is not required from Saudi Arabia. See DSL-1083 http://www.kamya.com/misc/polcert.html Ray Title: Re: Negative Post by: outwest77 on June 03, 2003, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Negative, posted by Ray on Jun 2, 2003

Hi Out, Actually, I had a copy of the DSL-1083 with all these immigration forms right here within reach. That's the DSL-1083 that they sent my wife with her forms package from the embassy. Just pulled it and looked for Saudi Arabia. There are a whole bunch of countries that don't issue police clearances. I thought it was interesting that Libya was also on the "Do not attempt to obtain..." list. I guess Red can attest to the fact that it was indeed required from Libya, regardless of what the form said. I hope you are taking notes on all of this visa junk. When are you going to file anyway? Start clearing out a large file drawer to hold all the paperwork (LOL). Is she going to be married in the U.K.? Is she planning to process the visa in London? She may need to get a police clearance from the U.K. along with the NBI clearance from Manila. Do you know how long she lived in Saudi Arabia? With all of the recent crackdown on terrorists and security checks for visa applicants, she may just get a closer look because she worked over there before. But I guess if they wanted a police clearance, the embassy would have to request it from Saudi themselves. Hopefully, she won't need it. Ray |
