Title: CERNOMAR for fiancee visa?
Post by: gm1 on March 22, 2001, 05:00:00 AM
Is the certificate of no marriage required for the fiancee when she goes for the interview?  I have seen references to it on the web, but don't see it listed in the checklist that is supposed to be returned to the embassy. Thanks.

My fiances interview was on March 5, and they never
did ask for the cernomar.
We had heard that it was no longer required, but we
got it "just in case".
For the interview it is always better to have much more
paperwork than they ask for.
For example:  nowhere is it listed that you will need her
baptismal record.  But, they did ask for my fiances baptismal record, and we had it available
to give to them.

Did you notice any changes in what was in packets 3 and 4, or are they using the same forms as has been posted last year?  Thanks.

From what I remember they are essentially the same.
I think the format is different, but the info is the same.
Are you going to be with your fiance at the interview?
Your being there should make everything go much more smoothly.
