Now, if any of you guys have been watching the news on TV you see the media people broadcasting and/or airing the War Plans or shall we call it.....Combat Plans of the US against Iraq. They have these HUGE maps where they specifically "point" where the US troops are heading and what targets are the troops are aiming at.....

I just Don't get it!

It could be disinformation for the viewers, too. These so called military experts hired by the networks, (including the one I work for), are not necessarily experts. They are just retired military who have impressed the civilian producers that they really know something. Look at them as guys who are just trying to make their Winnebago payments...

Don't worry Jun, it's only "misinformation" to throw off the enemy, a psychological warfare technique. Some of the Iraqi military may see the “war plans” on TV and decide that they would rather get the hell out of there first before it starts. They DO NOT release the “real” plans to the media, even though it seems that way.

You know what, I’ll bet Don The Walker is an expert in just this sort of intelligence junk. Maybe he could explain it better than I can. Or maybe VICKY could ask him in her next e-mail and Don could relay it to her and then she could post it here. That way, the enemy won’t be able to trace Don’s geographical coordinates through Planet Love :-)  Thanks VICKY!

Sorry but I am sure he would refuse to comment at all. He does not even tell me all that is going on, just a little. More than I probably should know but he says that what I do not know I cannot be accused of telling. I will ask him anyhow but as I said I doubt he will even answer.

However I am under no such restrictions about imagining. :)

I imagine that what the people on the news are saying is one of two things... things that the military wants Saddam to believe and things the media is making up as they go along just to have something to say. I have seen and heard enough inside information on other things that the media reported on and I know how wrong they usually are. From what Don has said the media hate being used by the military, but that is their tough luck. They either report what their "sources" tell them or they have nothing to say at all and that just kills them. They take what they get from "sources" and amplify it and deduce from it and it winds up that the story would not know its own mother when it is finished. If you want a closer thought on what will really happen listen to the BBC. They have had eons of experience in covering wars and they do it pretty well.

One thing I am convinced of is that this war if we have it will bear about as much likeness to Desert Storm as that war did to Vietnam. My darling does keep himself abreast of the latest military developements and weapons and he freely speculates about them at home when he is under no orders and often says how he would conduct a war with these new weapons and tactics. All I can say is that if I were Saddam I would be looking for someplace to run right now and go at the first sign of a bomb. The things on the news bear only a little resemblance to the plans he has worked out at home for recreation. These news plans are very simplistic, and probably meant to make Iraqi generals think we are going somewhere we are not like the marines did with their people on ship in Desert Storm.

I agree VICKY.

I think the real first strike will come from where nobody expects it, from the West. That's probably where Don is now, somewhere in Eastern Jordan. He probably didn't want to worry you, so he gave you some innocent “misinformation” about his location.

I don’t think he’s really in Kuwait like he told you. He wouldn’t have brought Calamity Jane with him if he were going to be assigned to headquarters :-)
