I'm planning on going to the PI within the next year or so and was wondering where would the best place(s) to go to find a nice Filipina? I mean, what are the best cities and what kind of places are good to look in those cities? Obviously, I don't want to look in the major touristy places. What about good, not expensive hotels? This will be my first trip to the PI and any advice about what to do and not to would be great. Lot of good stuff on here. I was going to email you, but your address is not working....I lot of people here can offer you a lot of collective experience- I tend to avoid Manila as it is simply too much and too dirty...all the usual huge asian city stuff. I Really like the Southern Philippines most- if you have an inclination to go there, email me and I would be glad to send you info- especially around northern Mondanao where I used to live. Cagayan De Oro is a great city to go to- cheap, relatively clean and relatively safe. It is not so huge yet has everything you need- shopping malls, good medical facilities, good access by air from Manila. If you do not need to go to Manila, you might consider bypassing the hassle by taking Cathay Pacific to Cebu city and it is only a short hop to Cagayan De Oro.
