Nice pics Joe!  Sorry we missed you.  I'm just getting around to checking them out now because we were in Las Vegas last week.  I took Sally to see the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon/Painted Desert too.  Heck, I even wanted to go down to SD to meet Ray but what was I supposed to do - look for Abe Lincoln walking around with a 5' Filipina? :o)))

Title: Welcome Back Vegas Man

"Las Vegas Man" (Bongorno)1998

"He lives in Cleveland, a common man
He works devising computer plans
With lack of hair and belly of beer
But when he steps on the plane out west
A transformation makes him the best
Women in first class whisper and hear:

[Chorus]
Who is that Man? Oh what a hunk!
Now he’s a star, once he was a punk
Who is this dude with the deep and dark tan
He is the cat known as Las Vegas Man

Landing in Vegas, change is complete
Of course he’s got new shine on his feet
Casino time – he steps off his Lear
His driver drops him where the stars all play
The doorman knows him – he knows the way
The doors fly open, the ladies cheer:

[Chorus]

Ready for action, pour him some juice
He’ll take a lady, snowman and deuce
Casino owners will shake in fear
Let’s check the cards now, he’s having fun
Well, yes – of course – he’s got 21
In all of Vegas he has no peer

[Chorus]

He’ll play all night long, no time for rest
No food to live on – it’s just a pest
When the dealer shuffles his fans all jeer
To call this a game would be a big joke
Again, the bank will call itself broke
His fans will now have to shed a tear"

"Las Vegas Girl" (Jimbo)2002

She lives in Westford, a simple gal
She works at seating lunchtime pals
With plain black hair and nothing bold
But when she steps on the plane out west
A transformation makes her the best
Men in first class whisper, I'm told:

[Chorus]
Who is that Girl?  Oh what a doll!
Now she's a star, no flower on the wall
Who is this babe that shines like a pearl
She's the lady known as Las Vegas Girl

Landing in Vegas, change is complete
Of course she's got red pumps on her feet
Casino time - she straightens her skirt
Her driver drops her where the stars all play
The doorman bows and shows her the way
The doors fly open, the men all flirt:

[Chorus]

Ready for action, give her a seat
At the roulette wheel she can't be beat
Come on honey place a bet for us
Spin the ball now, round and round
All eyes are open, smiles abound
And when it stops, she's got the touch

[Chorus]

She'll play all night long, win a few bucks
No drinks for her - bad for the luck
When the chips cash in she's happy with life
Her husband took care to always check in
This simple Filipina amazing him
He wonders now, "Was that really my wife?"

Hi Joe,

How did I like Las Vegas?  Oh! I love the place.  The lights at night from the top of the Eiffel tower was fascinating and the shows are everywhere.
When I arrived at the airport of LV my eyes was wide open when I saw the slot machines. The slot machines and casinos are every corner in Vegas.  When arrived in Paris Las Vegas Hotel my eyes was kept on rolling don't know where to start and what to play.  But I love to watch the Roulette game very interesting but risky game.

Now I miss those noise of the slot machines and the fountain show. ;o)

Hey Joe,

Nice photos! Only the Rhode Island Ripper, Teddy "The  Chappaquicddick Floater" Kennedy, and Jimbo, are missing. Did you at least get your feet wet? ;o))How about some Teddy jokes:

Q. What did Ted Kennedy say to Mary Jo Koepkne when she asked him if he was going to leave his wife and live with her?

A. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

Q. What does the sign in front of Ted Kennedy's house say?

A. Trespassers will be violated.

Q. Why did it take Ted so long to report the drowning at    Chappaquicddick?

A. It took him several dives to get Mary Jo's clothes back on.

Q. What was Bill Clinton's biggest mistake?

A. Not getting Ted Kennedy drive all of the women home.

Thanks Dave,
As for Jimbo, the ripper, and myself I think we had
    good intenisons of getting together.
I thought it was a missed phone call to Jimbo's place.
We had plans to drive to Rhode Island to visit Kevin,
I was all for it. I made a tough decision not to
recall Jimbo because of my daughter was having so
much fun with her cousins. I guess you like pictures
I posted on the net and thanks for the reply.
It kind of amazing about Teddy driving off the dike
bridge. The picture that I took was a bridge with
railings. For a long time the bridge had no side railings. The bridge actually leads to a beach so go figure
on that one. As a teenager I was raise on Martha's Vineyard,
and I Also lived there for two years with my wife and kids.
I left Boston and Teddy back in 1989 as a bitter man, I did
not like the way my wife got treated back there with my
family members. And it took me awhile to get over that
situation. I stood my ground back there, but I made the
decision to move back to Seattle. Alot of time has been lost
for me and my family. But I always stand by in what I believe in.

Nice Pictures Joemc

But  why  did  you  have  to  tempt  me  like  that.  I  know  exactly where in  the  commons  the  picture was  taken.  Ive  run  many  a  night  through  the  garden  and  commons  to  catch  Last train  home  to  Southie/ Dorchester from   the old Ritz  when  I  was  practicing Chocolate work too late.  Is  the  Picture  of  your  daughter  also  taken  at  Boston  harbor / wharf  or  is  that  somewhere  else.

I  just got  off  the  phone  with  mom  informing  her  that  I  have  requested  5  days  off to  visit  her  and  to attend  a  family  wedding  in Rochester NY in October.
I  am  so  tempted  to  steal  her  car  and  drive 6 hours to  Boston to  visit  friends  but  I  have  to  spend  time  with  her  and my  family.   I  can't  take  more  time  off  either  because  I  am  saving  that vacation  time  for  Japan.

So  close  and  yet  so  far.

Hi Windmill,
you are right that is the Boston Harbor, near the
Quincy market. Old Beantown pretty the same, a
real rat race. Seattle is my speed.  One thing
about Boston these days, the Bostoninans seem
have a fetish with the [big dig] tunnel project.
That town could use a good baker like yourself
it seems that Dunkin Donuts over running the city.
A shop on every street corner.

Actually  I  called  my  former coworker  in  Boston  today  and  Shot  the  bull  for  over  an  hour.  he  said  it  has  been  a very  hot  summer  but that  he had  a  spectacular  sunset  tonight. I  am spoiled  by  Santa Barbara's  perfect  weather here.  But  I  have  not  forgotten  weather  extremes.

Being   that I  am  a  fan  of Skyscraper  Architecture  and  interested  in  Civil  Engineering  and Transportation  projects  I  would love  to  see  how  much  progress  they  have  made  on the  Big  Dig  since I  was  there  last  october.

I  was  in Seattle in  1989  and  I  enjoyed  the  couple  of  days I  was  there.  I  have  a  cousin  who  lives  in  West Seattle now  but I  don't  know  them  too  well.  I  actually  applied  for  a  transfer  to  the  Seattle  Four Seasons a couple of  months  ago  but  I  was  told Saturday night  that I  was  not  approved.  My  executive  chef vetoed it, (no  big  shock  there).  So  today  I  registered  to  take  My Japanese  Class  instead.   Community  College  is  dirt Cheap  here in California  once  you  have  done  you  time  as  a  resident  here ( 1  year)  My  two  books  for  the  class  $ 86  were  more  money  than  the  cost  of the  class  (4  credits).

Seattle  and Portland  is  the  one corner  of  the  Country  that I  have  not lived  in  yet  but  I  am  still  drawn  to  there.

Yesterday  We  had  a  Barmitzva (now  there is a word  that I  did not  find  in my  Japanese / English  dictionary  to  check  the  spelling  on  ha ha ha) Anyhow  the  party  wanted  a  cake tower  made  out of  donuts to  serve 50  kids.  So  they  got in  20 fresh dozen of  the  famous  Krispy Kream donuts (Glazed, Maple Glazed, and Chocolate Glazed).  First  and  most likely  last  time  I  try  them.  I thought  they  were  a  severe  disapointment compared  to  the  donuts  in my  home  city  and  even Duncan  donuts  which  does  do  a  huge  business in Boston.  I  do  however miss  Boston's  Finagle a  bagel chain. Mmmm  the  thought of Wild berry Bagles  have  me  foaming  at the  bit  right  now  ha ha  ha

Seattle's my speed too.  Gawd...  I've never been able to bring myself to like anything on the upper eastern seaboard.  It's not the populace, it's the lay of the land, govt, 20 bazillion people crammed into such a small place etc...  there's some nice country (especially historical)  up there, but if I had my druthers, seattle and the surrounding area beats all.
