On the cockpit recorder of one of the China Airlines MD-80s that crashed a few years ago, the computer was saying over and over again, "Terriain! PULL UP." The final words on the recording were of one pilot asking the other in Chinese, "What does Pull Up mean?" -- Jeff S. Hi Jeff, This is my favorite: Russian International Airways The aircraft crashed after entering a zero G spin. The Captain was allowing his 15-year-old son to fly the airplane when the boy applied full deflection to the yoke, causing the autopilot to disengage and the aircraft to roll nearly 90°. The First Officer then pulled back on his yoke to attempt recovery, but the aircraft stalled and entered a spin from which recovery was not possible. The last intelligable words on the cockpit tape were, "Daddy, what does this do?"
