Title: visas for kids ? Post by: Marty on February 18, 2005, 05:00:00 AM Children under 16 are covered on my visa, right? Are they also covered on my $100 visa processing fee? I send their photos too, of course, do I need to send their passports? Anything else to do? The consulate website makes me think the kids are put on my visa/passport and are part of the $100 but just want to get it right the first time. Also, the application used to only be allowed on the stamped/original visa application form from the embassy, the way I read it is we can now use the computer printout, is this right? Thanks.

I understand the requirement for a passport. How about a visa. Since my wife is Ukrainian do I need a visa for our son to come to Ukraine? Or can he travel on her passport? thanks Title: Re: Re: Re: visas for kids ? If your son is included in your wife's international passport, then there should be no need for any visa(s). However, they will each need their greencard as proof of permanent residence to re-enter the USA upon their return. If your son was born in the US, or is otherwise not in your wife's Ukrainian passport, then you need to get him a US passport and a visa, or a Ukrainian passport -- provided he's at least a few years old and not a mere baby. One of the main issues, especially upon leaving Ukraine and in re-entering the US, is one of matching last names on passports with that on other ID. If your wife's (and perhaps child's) last names have changed since marriage from what is on the passport, then you have to reconcile this in some fashion. This is one reason I found it easier in the long run, although more expensive (obviously), to get our children a visa for their US passports. Then it is obvious they are US citizens, and there are no questions or suspicions regarding Ukrainian children leaving Ukraine. |
