Title: visa panic!!
Post by: keithandkatya on April 27, 2004, 04:00:00 AM
I sent for my visa from the chicago ukranian consulate and I just checked my answering machine and they are telling me they cant send it to me because I am not in their jurisdiction because I am Florida!! Back in 2001 I got my visa from Chicago... obviously things have changed...

Does anyone know of a consulate that has Florida in its jurisdiction??

Thanks,
Keith

You should apply for your visa through the Embassy in Washington DC.  Here is a link.

I was wondering why http://ukremb.com/ wasn't working -- it looks like they've added the Frisco office, and mixed things up a bit lately.

I am preparing for a multiple entry visa. I have two questions.
(1) Duration of stay in Ukraine (item 16) and date of proposed entry (item 17). If you want to enter Ukraine, are these items for the first entry only?
(2) The instruction says that it will take 9 business days to process the visa. Do they really process that quickly or is it better to pay more for quicker service?

1) the info is just for first entry only.  But be sure you tell them that you plan to visit several times in the next 5 years, aside from just checking the box for multi-entry.

2) my visa was back a couple of days before the 9 days, and I dealt directly with the Embassy, not some visa service.  But remember they count only business days and they take off for both UA and USA holidays!!
