Title: GREEN CARD Post by: f12phantom on June 27, 2003, 04:00:00 AM We had our Green Card interview on June 17th. Anyone know how long it takes before the card is issued? We were told there's no problem with our interview and that a letter would be sent indicating this fact within a week. It hasn't arrived yet. Also, they stated the FBI will be conducting a background check during this time which, according to them, generally takes a week or so. Is all of this true?
We are only anxious because this interview was postponed bu Homeland Security from March 17th to June 17th due to a case overload. This caused my stepdaughter's scholarship and financial aid for next year to be placed on-hold until she receives the Green Card. The university was gracious enough to assist her this past semester. I suspect her 3.98 GPA might have had something to do with it. Likewise, my wife has not yet obtained a job for the same reason. THX! We had the interview in Portland, OR on Oct 17, 2002. The actual plastic "Green Card" arrived Nov 28, 2002. Things may have changed since the INS was transformed. Also the office doing the interview and processing seems to make a difference on the timing and some of the procedures. |
