I knew it was kinda strange when all of us guys were at Jack social in Kiev (April 2001) and all the women were asking us if we knew "DAN"... We didn't know if this was a red flag or what. I was married for 7 years. 6 of those were bliss. However I was married to another musician...well she decided to pursue her career & that was that. Oh well. So now I want to marry only I don't want an American wife. The MExican's I've met are NOT marriage minded. So here I am. I DON'T want to "play the field", I want the stability of marriage. Probably the only smart musician out there. Though, there are alot that come out of booze detox & drug therapy with a level head once again. Seems the music industry, it swallows you up and then spits you out, if you live, to find firm footing on your own. You really have to admit, there are some folks in the music industry that base their decision more on family value, ethics than some that just go hog wild and slip down that slippery slope of the sleezy characters that are looking to ride on the coattails of your success. Why do you ask? At 64, I am probably the one of the oldest guys participating in this forum. I divorced after many years of marriage and am very "gun shy." After much correspondence, meetings and holidaying together I narrowed the field to 3 than 1. The two have subsequently married. One to an Englishman and the other to a gentleman living in FL. We, the ladies and I , still correspond and are good friends. I feel like a cupid. The remaining lady and I see each other 3 - 4 times each year. We are very close but have decided for now to not get married. we each have strong family commitments in our respective countries. I find this forum to be very interesting and helpful. I still look at the agencies web sites, those with ladies over 45. Therefore, I guess you could say I am "playing the field." Well, if I do understand you. By playing the field, do you mean flying and traveling to the FSU to go and get laid, it is much easier at home. No traveling, visa, lest risks, No culture barriers, same language, so on and on. One has to play the field, in another ways to find love, happiness and wht goes along. Then the trip(s) and hassles are worthwhile in the end, not forgetting the dreams and the time spent dreaming.
