OK guys. I would like to bring up a discussion thread that will compare various websites that a searcher might find useful. I think this will be a nice break from the political discussions and name calling. It might even be useful to someone who wants to meet a nice girl from Eastern Europe.

My one request is that no agency owner or website owner plug their own site. Jack, I am going to pick on you because you are the one I know best. I would ask that you feel free to talk about any site except your own and anyone else would be free to talk about your site.

Now the purpose of the thread is to share information and opinions about the various sites. All are welcome to participate with the one condition listed above. Just put the name of the website you want to discuss in your subject box and then share with the board. In addition to just giving your comments, also try to provide useful information such as the web address and any other information that might be relevant to a searcher.

For example, when describing a website you could tell us if it is a general dating site or one targeted to a specific group such as Russian Women. You could tell us if it provides join dates for the girls. You could comment on the search options, prices for contact information, etc. You could even give your color commentary on the site. Just whatever you think could be useful.

I hope some of you will share what you have found in your own searches with the rest of the board.

Dan, this is a site I stumbled on to and it has some great concepts because if there is any name that fits what we are all trying to do it it "SPEED DATING". I hope everyone will look this over !!

I think it's the Volgagirl website that has an email list you can subscribe to similar to this website chatroom.  50 emails a day does get annoying but you can also read the messages through the website referenced in the email.

Here is a great site for airflight searches.  It doesn't buy you a ticket, but is the most comprehensive source of flights I have ever seen.  Click on the 'Timetable' option, and it will show all of the flights between your two destinations for a week on either side of your dates.  That is a real godsend.  All other sites simply tell you 'no flight available' because they only check on the specific dates you punch in.  This website cuts down greatly on the trial and error approach to trying to find out what days of the week any airline at all flies between the two target cities.

But for any newbies out there thinking of going to Ukraine, then www.brama.com is a must see.

Not only the travel board, the other boards are well worth checking, and if you can't find what you want in the archives, there's always someone willing to answer requests.

It should be noted that on the Brama travel board that they try to keep it travel related.  When someone strays into areas such as finding the love of your life, they refer you to places like planet love.

Now, if you have met someone and want to take a trip with her, Brama is an excellent place for suggestions on where to go, how to get there, what to do and finding a guide and the like.

Most of the discussion is on the logistics of a foreigner travelling to Ukraine though.

This is an excellent suggestion Pordzhik: I'd been racking my brain for something to post and didn't think of this one even though I've been there many times.

You could talk about any website. It could be something like this one or it could be a site where you would go to find ladies addresses or it could be a site that provided information about travel. If it could be helpful to a searcher, then its fair game.

For example, if there is a site that is a good, reliable source of ladies addresses, you could also mention it too.

I think guys should go to the big websites like: Euroladies, Globaladies, Anastasia, AFA, Blue Saphires, Arcadia and Ikar and try to find the same ladies on more than one site.  Then compare the pictures and bio information.  It's useful to see other pictures and the bio information may vary with respect to kids or what they want in a man.  I have found discrepancies especially on women with kids.  

I think Blue Saphires is especially useful for comparison because they give more information than most and you can search many different ways.  They also give some idea of the number of men writing the ladies.  The European Connections websites give you a good idea of how well they speak english.  If a girl has an english level of 3 you can hold a simple conversation with her.  She needs about a 4 rating for a good conversation.  I don't think many websites give you a good idea of the girls english skills. I find it hard to go through the AFA site because there are so many women.  I wish I had a directory of the local Russian/Ukranian agencies by cities rather than an alphabetical listing. The local agencies seem like they are trying harder to market the girls while the bigger agencies strip out the hype.

You can compare bios all you want but if you find a lady on more than on site chances are that something is not right. One, she has had her bio "sold" on the black market and is now being broadbanded across the internet. Two, her bio/adress has been bought by an agency to be used for profit without her consent. Three, she is really desparate to leave whatever situation that she is in (big red flag). Or four, she may not exist at all (a model's photo and fake bio with an annonomous writer behind the replies).

Choosing profiles and buying adresses from an agency is a major crapshoot IMO. I think that most guys who have delt with any of the big agencies will tell you that their focus is only on one thing...PROFIT. They could care less about you or the ladies that they deal with. I can speak from personal expirience about this (Anastasia and AFA).

"Bigger agencies strip out the hype"??? I think that you have got that backwards. What is your frame of reference on this? I expirienced just the opposite.

Smaller/more personal agencies (ie. Firstdream) are a better choice if you want to shop the internet. They are more likely to carefully screen the ladies and less likely to have a scam artist in their fold. Better still is to place an advertisement or use a local agency while over there (but you have to get off your @ss and GO!). Window shopping just will not get you very far in this persuit (it is a great motivational tool though).

English and communication skills vary greatly and are highly subjective at best. You never really know who decided to rate any girl's English skill. Was it self rated or did the agency make a determination? If the agency did it, were they honest or trying to sell adresses. You must make you're own determination and use a rating only as a basic guide. When I met my wife I would have rated her English skills at maybe a 2.3 (on a 5 scale) but she would have rated it a 1. There is a level of telepathy between us and it is not just nonverbal communication. We can understand each other's emotions and ideas without specifically stating them, even over the phone. My wife understands my English better than anyone else that she talks to and, if you know me, my English diction is not the best.

but when we disagree with Jack on this point we are actually saying sites like his are a better pick. Just thought of this point.

I know enough about Jack's process to tell you that you should get more bang for your buck (ie response rates) with his addresses than some of the bigger ones such as Anastasia.

I had the same experience. I found my wife on a smaller site. Small sites are also not completely safe. Nothing is. Your odds, however, are better.

I think he was just trying to be funny. The more disappointing thing will be if no one else chooses to post relevant sites. This site will only be as good as people want it to be.

As for your comments below about writing about some of my own expereinces as a man married to a Russian woman. I think its an excellent idea. Thanks. Today is a little crazy, but I will start making posts on this subject fairly soon.

Sure the idea is good.
But for all of you already married to girls from the FSU
and that have been there (the East)  many a times.

I have always heard that the Russians people are very warm,
curious and like to mix with people from the West.
The use of agencies is certainly  worth a try.
But in my life, no matter where, when wanting to meet girls,
I simply went out and did meet them. In bars, restaurants or
in the streets,  asking questions, the likes of directions or whatever.
Once a conversation was started, it was up to me,
could I simply try to do the same in Moscow or St-Petes.
What are the pros and cons about trying to do this.
