It was the Passover sabbath. Rose on Sunday right? So Friday.. That doesn't = 3 days and nights does it? What were the early church people thinking ..they couldn't add? A new one for me (not that there's anything unusual about that!). Why do you enclose star in quotes. What is your authority for Jesus' birth date? I had always thought no one really new for sure. A bit absent minded on the name right now. Kempler or something... A christian/scientist/astrologer calculated that day that all the planets lined up to form a single "star". It would have been singularly brilliant..but the star of Bethleham was not a comet as some have suggested. Also, I read that there has been more accurate archaeological discoveries concerning the census decree issued by Rome at that time...Aug in 7BC. I thought that planetary conjunctions disappear after a few nights and novas "hang out" for a period of time. The Roman tax/census decree issued in 8BC took awhile to trickle down through the empire. That Sunday is to be the Sabbath. All Christian sects that adhere to this rule pay homage to the Roman Catholic church. By this adherence, the Catholic church views this as having dominion over Protestant sects and are darn proud of it as expressed in several speeches made by their leaders over the years.
