Post by: red on March 12, 2002, 05:00:00 AM
My Fiance visa is approved and petition has been fowarded to the Consulate in Manila!!!!

Now what happens??...is there anything i should do,or do i just wait to hear from Manila??...at the top of the letter it says the Approval Notice is Valid from 03/04/02 to 07/04/02.

I sent my petition to INS in Texas and that was Jan the 11th that they received it and it is just March the 12th,a lot faster than i thought.

Thanks to everyone, hopefully it won't be much longer...i am gonna call my sweetheart with the good news....God has really blessed me today...once again, thanks to everybody here.

Hi Red,

Congratulations! This calls for a celebration.

OK, this is my 3rd attempt to respond. My good ole' AOL keeps kicking me off. Since I’m not a total friggin’ idiot, I’m typing this in my Word program instead and will paste. ;o)

Your approval will be sent to Manila by diplomatic pouch. This could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, depending how full the pouch is. We were lucky and must have just made it into the pouch before it was sent (2 weeks). The embassy will send your fiancée a telegram asking her to call. When she calls, they will ask for her passport number. Then they will send her out the packet with forms and instructions. There is no appointment for the medical at St. Lukes. Once she completes the requirements, she goes for the medical (1-2 days) and when finished, they collect her documents. No interview (usually). The visa should arrive within a couple of weeks.

Go to Mag-Anak forms page and under 'Fiancée Related,' click on “Embassy fiancée packet.”  This will give you the information on what is needed before she can go for the medical.

My wife says to have the required immigration photos taken at Floro Photo near St. Lukes, as they take the exact photo that is required. It takes about 5 minutes.

Good Luck!
