Title: Cheaper Long Distance Rates ?... Post by: don1 on October 30, 2002, 05:00:00 AM I know that this subject has been covered a few times before , but I'm bringing it up again anyways . I've been using 10-10-220 for the last few month for my phone calls to the FSU . Rates are (relatively) reasonable , sound quality and connections have been good and reliable . All in all , I've been satisfied with using 10-10-220 for my calls ; but I know that there are probably some other phone services or cards out there that I'm not aware of that may be better or more reasonable . Another guy I know , also using 10-10-220 for calls to the FSU , recently started having trouble with connections and so on. He found another service , slightly better rates , good sound and connection quality ; so he passed it along to me . I haven't used this phone service yet , but it has some of the same features that I like with 10-10-220 , and I'll probably try using it on my next phone calls . I'm just passing it along to you ; who knows , maybe it'll save somebody a few bucks .
I know that the phone cards usually offer cheaper rates ; but they don't have a good track record with me . The ones that I've tried were either unreliable as far as connections ; or the sound quality was pretty poor . And that might just be because of the ones I happened to try , or maybe it was a bad time to call , or whatever . The website is www.startec.com ; and here are some of their advertised phone rates : While shopping for the best phone rates , some of these sites are worth checking : startec.com For phone cards , some of these sites are worth a look : If someone has found a particularly good/reasonable/reliable phone card or phone service , please post it here as I'm sure that a lot of guys here would find that info useful . If someone has had a bad experience with one of the sites I've listed , please post that info as well . I'm not recommending one phone service or card over another , just (like a lot of other guys ) looking for something that might be a little better or a little cheaper than what I'm using now . I'm just trying to post some info and links that guys can use when shopping for phone rates or for comparison . Any help appreciated .
