Title: End of the Line Post by: Kpucca on October 17, 2002, 04:00:00 AM My Ukrainian bride of 5+ years became a US citizen today!
As I said earlier, yes, it *does* work. Good luck to all of you in your searches here. Title: ? Future status.... Post by: tfcrew on October 18, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to End of the Line, posted by Kpucca on Oct 17, 2002
What happens to Ukraine citizenship after naturalization? Is a visa needed to return to the homeland (just like the rest of us)...? Title: Re: ? Future status.... Post by: Kpucca on October 18, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to ? Future status...., posted by tfcrew on Oct 18, 2002
Yep... just like the rest of us, which she is now. As for a visa, she'll definitely need one just we will. Last time we visited in '98 we ran into considerable trouble with the constables at Odessa Customs as well as having to replace her Soviet-style passport while there. (It was $700 in 'processing fees' for anyone interested.) I insisted that next time she would have to be on a US passport. Following the naturalization ceremony we went to lunch. Natasha said that Her response was to bounce a crouton off of my nose and stick out her tongue! *grin* Aren't they something wonderful! ...and taking the arrows. Five years of marriage contradicts the notion many people have that the girls will just take off after they get the green card. Add him to the success list Dan. I wouldn't have missed a moment of it for the world. Over five years in and it still seems like just yesterday it all started. Title: Zdravstvuy!!! Post by: BURKE89 on October 17, 2002, 04:00:00 AM |
