Title: Back from St. Petersburg Post by: juio99 on October 09, 2002, 04:00:00 AM Fellow posters. I just arrived back from a month in SPb. My home computer crapped out just before I left, so can't post much for awhile til I get it fixed. Still suffering jet lag now.
Anyway, SPb is more messed up now than it was last year. I am referring to all the work being done for next years 300th birthday celebration. Many, many of the lesser museums are closed for rennovation. The area around Sadova metro is an unbelieveable mess. Nevsky street and sidewalks are much better than last year. However, I doubt seriously if they are going to be done with everything even by the end of next year. I made same type of trip as before. Met with 12 ladies and had about 20 backups if needed. And backups were needed as there always seems to be a rash of last minute happenings with some of my original first choices. For instance, one lady had to go to Belarus because of sick father. Another just took a job after having been out of work for 3 months. I cut her out because my plan is always to spend one initial day and then 5 or so later if things work out. With a new job, I knew she couldn't get the 5 days off. She really pi$$ed (that I wouldn't spend one day with her) but couldn't be helped. Another was transferred to Moscow a week before I arrived. She also wanted to come back to spend Sats and Suns with me, but that wouldn't work for 5 day meetings, so had to replace her also. I pitty the guys who go to meet just one lady because the one lady for me could have been one of these three and I would have been up sheet creek. Also, I am starting to agree with some who say that SPb and other large cities may be getting 'fished out,' at least in some sense of the concept. Sure, there are thousands of ladies available there, but almost every one has some serious drawback. And let me be the first to state that I (and most every guy here) also have some serious drawbacks. I can't detail all of the situations (regarding drawbacks) but I do have one point of reference. By error, a lady from a smaller town far from SPb and myself got involved in the initial correspondence process. I told her of the mistake and that we should stop corresponding because I wouldn't be making any trips to her area. She basically refused to stop corresponding and went to great lengths to try to meet with me in SPb. She was much more agreeable to any types of arrangements, etc., than were most of the SPb 'hometown ladies.' Admittedly, this is a very small sample, but it gave me some hints that the 'pickings' may be a lot better outside of the major towns as many others have suggested here. As I noted earlier, I dropped down my lower age limit to 35 from the 40 I had been using before. I was a bit warry, but as it turned out, two of my top four ladies were aged 35 and 37. None of the ladies under age 40 seemed to mind my age (50) at all. In fact, the only mention of age was that they thought I looked to be in my early 40s. I don't think I look that young, but perhaps compared to Russian guys I do. I didn't really know the ages of Russian guys that I dealt with (some business meetings) so I can't really get a handle on the 'how old we look compared to the Russian guy's thing.' But I can verify that the Russian guys still come out on the short end of the stick when it comes to pleasing the ladies in a sexual sense. Every single lady that I had romance with mentioned that the Russian guys never took the care that I did to ensure that the experience was highly pleasureable for them. Some were so shocked by my words about this issue (telling them that I would insure their pleasure one way or another) that they almost resisted getting started. A trip that emphasizes your cocksmanship is not really appropriate for this forum. I don't think it's necessary to tell of your intimate exploits with the St. Petersburg slu ts. Perhaps the Lonely Planet board is a better forum for your type of trip report. There is a section on LP for sexual vacations and I think they would appreciate it more. Not here. Gee, as much as I REALLY hate disrupting the Mutual Admiration Society that you all have going... I guess this is what happens when a closet dickhead comes out after he is on the home stretch of the K-1 process. The biggest weakness in a lot of guys going for "MOB's" is that they're egotistical pricks. I don't know what it is that makes em so goofy like that but it's true. Mark is definately an egotistical prick who seems to be showing his true colors now that he is "home free". Wow... I'm so excited to have won this award... I have such a large list of people to thank... I hardly know where to begin! First of all, I would like to thank the Academy for voting for me. It is truly an honor. Especially with the incredible competition... I mean... Most of Mak H's best stuff was deleted, so I don't know if this is even fair... And of course... LP... I mean... it's an honor even to be in the same category as LP... And now to have won this award... well... -sniff!- I'm sorry. I'm just so overcome with emotion right now... OK... For one thing, there are MANY people who read and who don't post... so it is presumptuous for you to say what the board members want. I wasn't offended by his post. Others weren't either. I would prefer to reserve judgement before deciding what his posts are all about. Out of 7 paragraphs, only one mentioned his "intimacy" with anyone. And he didn't go into any detail. He just said that the women he was with said the Russian men were selfish lovers. That is hardly gloating in my eyes... As I mentioned before... JR, you've got an attitude which makes me question your decision to pursue Russia as a stomping ground instead of your local eastcoast mid-age factory outlet fantasy bar scene. I'm thinking that you're working against most members and readers of this board by acting in a manner that would repulse most Russian women against American men EXCEPT those consumed by the Russian Big City night life. To me, and I guess others according to their posts, JR's presentation sounds a lot more like locker room bragging about the number of notches on his unit than any legitimate sharing of information that others might find useful. Just what "valuable information" did you pick up on? Was it that the the St. Pete area has been "fished out" based on JR's personal evaluation of his "score ratio"? I, and I think a lot of others, am interested in something a bit above that and am willing to take on the additional and expected trials and tribulations of pursuing a foreign bride. i.e., I am looking for something better or I would not be doing this. Thus, to me, it makes no sense to pursue it in a manner that has not produced results in the mid-life, bald-headed, work the circuit, cruise for your age minus 20+, and hope your Viagra Rx doesn't run out, American Bar Scene. I love Russian women and that is why I am focussing there, but to do so on the same basis that seems to be an established routine in the US makes no sense to me. I think JR is trapped into that kind of thinking. Unlike other trip postings, I just do not see a value in this one. All I see is a guy stroking himself and falling in love with the sound of it all. He makes a point that RM do not take care of their women in bed. RW are surprised when AM step up to the challange of satisfying them. THAT is good information in my opinion. Clearly he was active with women, I agree with you there. As you say, since we don't know the circumstances, we can't judge if he was using them for a sex quickie, or if it was something else. Also, we don't know what his values (and theirs) are with regards to sex. Personally, I wouldn't go to Russia and have sex with several women. But, I'm not going to judge him, since -- as you so rightly point out -- we don't know what really happened. But at least he isn't giving out names and web site addresses of his "conquests" like some others on here have done... As for his comment about the women being amazed by the pleasure he wrought... it seemed more to me a comment on the societal differences. I thought he was more saying that Russian Men don't care about their partner's pleasure than he was saying that he was some gifted stud. From my, admittedly limited, experience with some Russian (and Ukrainian) women, I have heard this before. Meaning that I have heard women say that the Russian Men, as a rule, don't care about their partner's pleasure very much. (I am sure Amerikana will disagree here -smile- ) But it IS a stereotype that I have heard, and read. And I think that his mentioning it is proper fodder for this forum. I am sure that a lot of guys going over are wondering what the woman's expectations are, as well as what their expectations should be. I haven't really tracked all of JR's posts. Maybe he is just a horn-dog who wants to get laid.... But from reading this one post, I didn't think that he was trying to brag... Just one man's opinion... Not gonna give you odds I am afraid and now that it has been some time, I am not really sure the truth really hit about Rhonda. There is something there that we do not know my bones tell me. So, even if you had won by the superficial criteria, it may have not been a valid win. But heck, what is new, in the courts some guilty get off as innocent and some that are innocent get incarcerated. Interesting your comments about "fished out." I was only in St. Pb once, but I think it has more to do with the "big city" vs "small town" mentality than being "fished out." I think that the women from St. Pb (and Moscow) are more "modernized." They have been exposed to more western thinking and, in short, are slowly evolving into the same thing as the AW. They can be very career minded. And, of course, very choosey. They also have a tendency to speak better English and have email accounts, so they have a lot more men writing to them, so they are very choosey. No empirical data on that. But it was my sense from some comments made by a couple of the women I met (as well as the ladies who worked in the Marriage Agency that I cisited while I was there.) |
