Title: The Full Monty.....Kiev Trip Report Part 1 Post by: Turner on October 05, 2002, 04:00:00 AM I am back now from my trip to Kiev. I was gone 15 days all spent in Kiev. I had a fantastic apartment overlooking indepedence square and all amenities. I paid $60/night. Unfortunately I had to listen to those anti-government protests day after day.............
Well I will tell all and you can all form your own opinions. To recap, I have been going to the FSU off and on for the last 5 years. I have done the full gambit. Tours, solo trips, local agencies, ads in the papers, introductiuons through friends......... On this trip I lined up the best of the best and it was going to be a make or break trip for me insofar as ever going back to Ukraine was concerned. In all my previous trips, I always had a good time. I never met what I consider to be a standout woman, but I must admit I have very high standards. I live here in Charlotte and we have many pretty woman so my basis of comparisons as far as looks go is quite high. Personality wise I like a nice girl with a kind heart. I flew Air France out of JFK. What I like about the set up there is that right by the gate, they have a wine bar, I think its called Napa Valley wine bar, and as a wine lover it was a great way to pass away the time until my plane left. Getting through customs in Kiev was a snap and I had a driver meet me and take me to my apartment. Actually we stopped on the way in at a huge grocery store and I loaded up on foods, and drinks etc for the apartment. I made just one date that night for 7:30 because I figured I would be a bit tired. This girl I met through a friend. I had talked to her a few times on the telephone and we had excanged severalpictures via the internet. She looked like a young Natalie Wood with large breasts. ( she was 29) The bottom half of her was a bit large however. We met at the Mimino's Georgian restaurant and we had a lovely dinner and talked for several hours. She seemed very interested in me, but I had some concerns because she seemed a bit stubborn in some of her comments and was really grilling me about my job and house etc..... I figured I would meet her one more time and see whats what and go from there. We got into the same taxi, I was dropped off first and then she was taken home. A quick kiss tonight and I was ready to crash. The next day it would be full steam ahead. I had a lot of girls to meet........ Part 2 next Title: Wow! A trip report! We haven't had one of those in a while! Thanks! Quick question: Did you use an agency to arrange your apartment and dates? Did you place a personal ad at all? Those are details that a lot of the new guys (especially) want to hear. I agree about Customs in Kiev. First time I went, I used the VIP service. Second time I went, I just did customs myself. No difference in time. Incidentally, I was not asked to fill out a "Declared Goods" custom form last time through. I saw some poeple with them, but no one on our flight (British Airways from Heathrow) was required to fill them out. The only "Form" I had to fill out was this silly little slip of paper that asked me my name and passport number. I say silly because it is on the back of a brochure! It looks like you're filling out a requent for more information on a restaurant or something. Anyway... yes... customs is easy in Kiev. Title: Re: Wow! A trip report! I used a friend in Kiev to arrange my apartment. I had used personal ads in the past so I met with some of those girls that had responded. Some of the girls that I met on this trip were girls that I had met when I toured with local agencies in the past.
