Title: Patrick, I know you really, really like me,
Post by: Del on October 05, 2002, 04:00:00 AM
but what's with the duplicate posts? I don't have the wisdom of Yoe or LP, or the wit of Jack or Dan, or the writing skills of MarkinTexas or Greg. Therefore, I cannot understnand why you want me to post everything twice??   :-)
This only happens here.
Any hints???

If some computer systems you have an echo setting.  If letters come back twice you have echo on and you need to turn it off.  It might be a problem with a modem setup file.

One thing you can try is to go download a modem update software from you computer manufacturers website.  This would update your modem files and reconfigure it.  You internet provider, Microsoft or your computer manufacturer might have a troubleshooting section that describes this problem and what the solution is.

I'm on a DSL connection. This does not happen when I post to Brama or when I send an e mail (at least when I send one to my home e mail address!).
If anyone can help me, please e mail me (address is in my profile)becuase I don't want to keep *double posting*.
Thanks,
Del

Try going to this URL -- www.lavasoft.nu, and download a piece of software called "Ad-Aware".

Quite possibly you've loaded some spyware that is trying to send a copy of your e-mails, and this little program (free, BTW) will identify it and remove it.

Good luck Del.

BOClean and my virus scanner.
This ONLY happens here, and my e amils are not doubled up on either (at least to the best of my knowledge).
This just started when I installed WinXP SP1.
Not being knowledgeable, I suspect it may be something to do with the way MS handles java.  ???
