Title: Agency recomendations/warnings Post by: Mos22 on August 26, 2002, 04:00:00 AM After doing several months of research I've compiled a list of several agencies that are my favorites for some combination of girl quality, price, and apparent respectability. But its that 3rd one that is hard to determine by myself. So I figured I should pass the list by the "veterans" on a good message board to find out what any of you may have heard or experienced about them (good and bad).
Unfortunately the anti-spam-post protection on this site kept blocking my every attempt to post the list. Atleast one of these sites must be an "evil one" that keeps stopping my post. So I thought up this workaround: I put the list up on this web page: http://www.icdc.com/~mostroff/Misc/Agencies.html When you need to describe each site to me, just refer to it by the number I put in front of each one instead of by name so you don't get blocked too. I'll appreciate any info you can provide. I tried once UAprincess, and so did a friend of mine. Mixed opinion: Nice couple doing it, and indeed no problem to get into contact with the girls, but the owners are not overly concerned as you will see next. The girl I met, I think she got some money from them and it didn't work out. My friend, it worked out with one girl but in the end she scammed him (not sure if it was pre-meditated). However, that girl remained on the list despite that this we put this to the attention of the site owner. He simple suggested to try another girl! Conclusion: site is not very serious... That would be Vesta Fortune of Moscow. They charge 50.oo to allow you to meet one of their girls as does Anastasia. The problem is Vesta's girls don't really want to meet you, but get some cut of the 50.00. I'm sure some of the girls there are sincere, but some are scammers and taught well. Anastasiaweb is the biggest scam on the net and Anastasia takes no responsibility for it. AFA's Moscow agency is more incompetent than scammers but are a joke. The list for the really slimy agencies should be out there also. My thanks go out to those who have commented on my list so far. Didn't get definite answers on all the ones I wanted, but every little bit helps. At the very least #17 is definitely checked off my list now. Wasn't expecting this thread to become the battleground for a flame war either, but that's the internet for you :-) Jack - You said #9 (Mord) is a definite scam. Why do you say that? And has anyone even heard anything about #8, 10, or 13? I think 8 and 10 are rather new but 13 has been around for atleast a year.
(btw: this page will probably dissapear after 8/31 - I'm in the process of switching ISPs) Title: Re: Agency recomendations/warnings Post by: johnnydudeman on August 28, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Agency recomendations/warnings, posted by Mos22 on Aug 26, 2002
#7. this agency helped me with personal introductions with some lovely girls in Kherson...they were fine #11. same as above, but they also helped me with some extras while I was in Kherson...I would recommend them. Can't agree with Jack here. #12. wrote to a girl from an "absolute agency" and it was the #12 agency that posted the girl's profile. The girl was real and real pretty and the agency helped us arrange a meeting in Moscow...for a price. I would avoid Yoshkar-Ola in general because of my dealings with that girl and because she seemed to be hooked into a "network" of other Yoshkar girls who were already in the USA and who had left their "fiancees" shortly after arriving. Also, there was a recent news story of a couple of guys arrested in Yoshkar after scamming some gullible American men. #17. I had bad dealings with this agency and I have heard many horror stories from others. I agree with Jack on this one...very questionable business practices. Hey Dudeman, Sounds like you had a great trip. Seems the trip did just as you were hoping, it revealed many things about the lady, both good and bad, and now you do have a much clearer perspective towards things. Dudeman we agree on a lot of things and I would like your opinion and answers to a few questions I have on the following. There is an agency owner and she is paid by her clients to help her find a good, sincere foreign husband. The agency owner has accepted this woman's hard earned Hrivana's to help her find a husband. So the agency owner places this woman's ad in a popular catalog where the men who are interested in her can buy her address in hopes of writing to this woman. A good, sincere man see's this woman's photo, likes what he see's and reads, so he buy's the ladies address. My serious question to you Johnny dudeman is this. Does this sound like an agency owner who has her clients best interest in mind? If the agency owner had sincere interest to help her client find a good husband, why would she not arrange for her client to meet this sincere man in the center of the city as he was willing to come to the center to meet her? Question 2. Do you think it is ethical for an agency owner to submit a ladies photo into a national catalog that sells ladies addresses and to not list the ladies address, but instead the agencies address, and then offer to sell the man the ladies home address a second time, after the man thought he was buying the ladies home address originally? Johnny dudeman I am not naming any agency here, this is just an in-general question. Look forward to your studious reply and comments. Come on Jack...if you had read any of my previous posts, you'd know I don't make any "studious replies and comments" on this board. :) (I'm just a simple country boy tryin' to git me a wife.) I know you had a similar experience as what you describe in your "hypothetical situation," and that was too bad. My guess is that the agency did not want to deal with someone who was dealing with them through another agency, and maybe that was the reason they were so "standoffish." But my experience with them was very different and very positive. They provided me with some good one-on-one introductions to the ladies of my choice and at reasonable rates. They also did much much more and for no extra charge. MOS 22, Even though you posted a few days ago I hadn't looked at your list until just now. Was curious as to who blowhard baby dorf-boy was crying about. Here is my take on your list. (1) basically honest agency but concept is somewhat Title: Re: Agency recomendations/warnings Post by: Mark H on August 28, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Agency recomendations/warnings, posted by Mos22 on Aug 26, 2002
#2 Ordered addresses from them 3 years ago as my first agency experience. Addresses were legit, girl I picked wasn't. #3 Owner wants to control your trips and your methodology. Do not recommend. #5 Met a girl through them in St. Pete's. Everything was up to date and accurate. No problems, even referred someone to them who had good success with their agency. #9 and #12 Interacted with the owners of the agencies many times via email. Always informative, quick replies, very supportive. NO experience abroad with them but my feeling about them was good. Title: Re: newbie question?? As I am new to this RW thing!!! I wondered is anyone has had experience with Life Time Partners??? I think the town is called Tveer?? Title: Re: Re: newbie question?? Post by: Oscar on August 27, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: newbie question??, posted by THX1138 on Aug 27, 2002
I went through Lifetime Partners. It is an honest agency (although I feel it is somewhat dishonest to advertise some of the women as being "new" to the agency when in fact they have been in it sometimes for years!). Your profile does not state your age, but you should be aware that the women in this agency are for the most part, VERY young (18-22). So if you are in your late 20's early 30's, you might be ok, otherwise, I would go somewhere else. It has also been many guys experience (including my own) that many of the women who agree to meet with you are often "no-shows". No call, no explanation, they just don't show up! I never found this anywhere else. I think this may be because the girls in this agency meet a LOT of American men. There are guys there all the time and they pretty much pick all the same women to meet, at least this was the case when I went there. So, are they honest for the most part? Yes. Would I ever go to Tver again or use this agency? No. Had a much better time in Kiev, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk Ukraine, and much less expensive as well.. My 2 cents.. The Yoshkar-Ola agency has a long list of happy clients. The city has several agencies and the message board is pretty active. It is now a yahoo group and membership is free but required. City is of the beeten path, so to speak; women not so westernized.:-)) Title: Re: Agency recomendations/warnings Post by: Patrick on August 26, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Agency recomendations/warnings, posted by Mos22 on Aug 26, 2002
#9 and #15 are on the spam list, but that doesn't mean they're definitely dishonest, just that they tried to use the board to promote their site at some time in the past. I've done business with #14 on your list and found them honest and helpful... Title: Re: Re: Agency recomendations/warnings Post by: Bobby Orr on August 27, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Agency recomendations/warnings, posted by MarkInTx on Aug 26, 2002
Chances are #1 on your list will be throwing away your money because the vast majority of quality girls have long gone to America with no replacement other than girls growing up from High School / some college girls. If you want a girl with a child #1 is ok. Fa@e of S@beri@ scares me because I wrote them and said I would be going to Novosibirsk and wanted to use their agency. However, I still had to pay them for their "full package," ie. paying them for a plane ticket even though it was purchased for me on business. Paying for their housing even though it was purchased for me on business. So, they are an extremely money hungry unethical agency in my book at the very least. Others have reported them as a down right scam agency. I have found that when you deal with these dating agencies when their is smoke there usually is fire. Therefore, if there is one credible negative report, run and run fast. |
