Title: I-129 status.
Post by: MNKenr on July 27, 2002, 04:00:00 AM
I also posted this down below.

California
As of 7/23/02 they were processing I-129F cases dated 5/07/02

Nebraska (the center I am using)
As of 7/16/02 they were processing I-129 cases dated 4/22/02

Texas
As of 7/03/02 they were processing I-129F cases dated 5/28/02

Vermont
As of 7/16/02 they were processing I-129 cases dated 7/3/02

Of course Nebraska is going at snails pace and Vermont is flying. What is it about Vermont that allows them a 2 week turn around time?

I've read that they have extra people working, and they're working weekends.

Sucks, all INS offices should be run the same, and they aren't and this is just one example.  Hopefully a reorg is coming, and these can be staighened out. Of course it will be too late for most of us.

You know, we all know Vermont is ultra fast on K-1's.  It's probably because they have the entire staff working on them, because if you need any other application to go through there you can just hurry up and wait.  Vermont is great for the K-1, but horrible for everything after that.

Submitted my marriage papers to NCIS on 21 November and they finally were approved and forwarded to the State Department for background investigation on 21.  That's 7 months!  Living in Iceland is difficult enough without our Govt giving a little bit of their attention to our needs over here.

I could have done the whole thing through the INS processing centers and taken her to the U.S.A. for marriage, but thought that this was the easiest for me....Losing patience now, but can't do much but keep the calls through my NCIS field agent.  The other thing that makes this difficult is that there is absolutely no communication from the Navy Criminal Investigative Service as to the status of my papers unless we call them.  There is no three or four step process, whereby you recieve periodic notifications when each step is accomplished.

I am fortunate in all this to have a wonderful woman with whom love abounds in our hearts.  We would wait a lifetime if that were required, just to be together.  If she is anything like the women that the men here are finding for wives, then all of you are truly blessed.
