Post by: Oscar on July 10, 2002, 04:00:00 AM
Just wanted to gather a few opinions here from guys on whether to cable my approval to Warsaw when I get it or whether it is better not to cable for some reason???

Thanks in advance,
Oscar

About the cabling process....let me tell a little story about my experience dealing with Moscow embassy.

I was in Moscow at the same time I found out my petition was approved, I found out by calling the CSC automated number and punched in my case number from my reciept. A recorded voice told my petition was approved...we called back to verify...and YES!
My girl and I were very excited...so we went to the embassy the next day to open the "provisional file" and retrieve the packet 4 info and to schedule the interview.

What they told me in person was ...we do not care if your petetion was cabled (faxed), there is a chance of too many errors, so we wait for the "hard copy" to arrive -before-
we schedule the interview.

I was only able to open the provisional file that day...what a joke!...another bio form...name, phone number, current address, and birthdate.

what they also told me is that they also wait for "my" FBI background check before anything else happens.

So the bottom line is this: It is a waste of time to cable your petition...because even if they did accept it, they will sit on it untill other things are in order, such as the FBI check. The reason for the "provisional file" is to get current mailing instructions on your girl...so they send the packet info to the right address.

This was my experience with Moscow embassy, I realize Warsaw will be very different...

But assuming your petition has been in process for a while, it is probably best to leave things as they are.

Depends on your center..and how they feel that day.
I didn't request a cable process (out of Texas)
and didn't worry about it either.
