Title: Cultural something us us-sr Post by: yoe on July 03, 2002, 04:00:00 AM I just talked to a Russian friend. He is wrapping up his vacation with his mom. They just drove from Chicago to Miami to DC to New York. They are going to spend a few days at the Niagra Falls before heading back to Chicago. I ask him to come out to LA but it was a little out of his way.
So I ask ya-when was teh last time any of you guys even took your mom out for dinner? I thought so. He may not be the status quo but it is not ananomoly either. My wife has taken her mom over much of eastern Europe and last fall 3 months in USA. When is the last time your mom came to visit? If your parents are deceased I apologize. But you can acknowledge if you know of ANY person sho has done this in the US. I know there are many of us true blue Americans who take of of family when they are sick-does not count. I mean just to do it because it is the way things are.................... Joe Title: Is this a rhetorical question? Actually, my Mom lives 1000 miles a way. I flew her out here for Mother's Day, and treated her to a Brazilian Steakhouse. (Which is excellent, btw guys in DFW -- the one in Hurst. Only problem is that I ALWAYS over eat there!) I'll bet a lot of guys on here took their mom out for dinner on Mother's Day. That's easy. It's calling her several times a week, and listening to her complain about her life that's hard...
