I'm getting ready to begin the journey to find my soulmate.  I was just wondering if you guys could tell me why you all chose Russians?  Also, did you assist the ladies you wrote with postage?  If so, how?  And for those who might have used stamps, where did you get them?

Welcome Nate,

I'm just curious, but it looks like from your profile that you are 21 years old..  I am wondering why have you decided to look elsewhere already?  Have you dated many AW?

As for FSU women, sounds like you have gotten a lot of good replies already..  I will just ad that I personally have found these women to be much more feminine than AW (in general) and also much stronger in many ways..  I mean, they have to be to survive!  The women there typically mature MUCH faster than the women here as again, they are pretty much forced to.  So at 21, what age girl would you be looking for?

No I've not dated many AW in my time, but for me the decision has nothing to do with the fact that I've not dated many AW; for me it's more to do with the fact that I've always known I'd marry someone who wasn't originally American...if that makes sense?

That's cool Nate..  So do you have a game plan yet?  I mean as far as your method- tour, ad, agency, on your own, etc?

As a college student, are you aware that it can become a bit expensive?  There are ways to minimize costs, depending on what "method" you choose..  You might want to ask some of the guys here what method they went with.  I have done a few, agency, on my own etc., but what worked best for me by far was a personal ad.  Keeps the scammers to a minimum.  That's how I happened to find my girl and I know some others here found their girls that way..

1) A simple 'no brainer'. Because of economic conditions in the FSU, I 'did better' over there than I could've done over here for the same amount of effort.  Hey, where is an 'ol fart like me gonna' get a young, beautiful girl to marry?

2) Yes, by including international reply coupons with each letter I wrote.

3) No stamps, just IRC's.

I have heard that IRC (international reply coupons) can be hard to use in some (more remote) parts of the FSU.  If you want to use actual postage stamps, try buying them from Anastassia as the do, or at least used to, sell both Russian and Ukrainian stamps for replying to the USA.

Even if IRC are accepted over there, an appropriately stamped envelope might make in easier for the person to reply in that she can drop the envelope in any mail box as oppossed to having to make a trip to the post office.

I have met girs from so many places and think that they are all beutiful. I dated girls of many colors and they were all interesting. But I decided to focus on European because I am-by nature. It just so happened that there is 'girls looking for guys' in Eastern Europe. Lovely white girls. Where else can you find beautiful, educated, family oriented, white women who want to be a man's wife? You guessed it. Now I do not want to generalize but I do. But here is my wife in a nutshell!
1. she cooks for me- and I mean gourmet stuff
2. she irons all of my clothes
3. she is on my azz 24/7
4. she is very pretty
5. she has great taste in things and understand quality
6. great judge of situations
7. innately a good 'woman'
8. I do not ask her to do any of it
9. sometimes I want to ring her neck
10. most of the time she wants to ring mine
11. we are perfect for each other
I hope it is a little more clear
if you are not sure-get with a tour company-try small and local like firstdream.com-there are others if you go to google. write some girls and just go. Or you could write a few, maybe lighting will strike and you go meet one. Anyway you must go-within 6 months from now!
But make sure you have about $20k extra you can spare this year! (unless your name is Dante)

She often is wrong because she uses 'Russian' standards as her guideline (for example, if something is wrong in business, she always assumes it's due to corruption).

I have corresponded with a dozen Russian and Ukrainian ladies.  I have met three Russians.  I haver found them all to be intelligent, charming and delightful.
I selected three to meet and found them all attractive, beyond my expectations, friendly, stylish and very neat,  great companions.  Two of the three found other fellows, but we remain good friends.  The third has become a very good friend and who knows, I may chase her until she catches me.  Bottom line, Russian women are great!  

I have sent money to some to cover the cost of correspondence.  They have so little and wages are very low, $100 to 300 per month. Most had their savings wiped out by the 1998 economic crisis.  Only three asked me for money.  For reasons other than that, I broke off correspondence with them.  I have never sent more than $100.  I use Western Union.

The advice about being wary if they continue to ask for assistance is very sound.  Unfortunately, some women in Russia are as unscrupulous as some AW's are.

If you're worried about the costs, then look into other means that are discussed here such as the draw-down card.  If you want reliability without the hassle of dealing with the bank - hours, procedures etc, (and insane acct details) then wu is the way to go imo.  It'd be different if you were sending a lot of money at regular intervals though, but since a hundred bucks goes a long way there, wu ain't so bad, and it's definitely hassle free.

I've been attracted to European woman for almost all of my adult life and like stated earlier before,, their sense of "family values" and what they want in a marrige as opposed to most single women I've seen here,,,(worlds apart)
Yes,,, I always offered to help with postage and e-mails costs. If you ever go and see how little the average divorced or widowed woman has while trying to raise a child, it will simply amaze you how they manage to make ends meet. ($20.00 to $30.00 a month)

I decided to go to the ukraine because I met a couple that was swiss and ukrainian and thought she was very nice. Upon finding my girl I disovered she understood the simplicities of life. She is very soft spoken and warm.  She is also very dedicated to the her family which is not that common in the states anymore. I found myself feeling very at ease with her and not worried what she was thinking. Unlike the girls I have met here. When we ate at a restraunt, I never hsd worry about how I was eating or how I was chewing unlike the women here. She never asked me about money only what I wanted or liked. NOw if you are thinking about sending a little money to her for postage use western union they can phone her from there. Try not to caught up in the money thing and be careful if every time you write her or speak to her she asks for money. That is all for now and I am sure you will get many other good reasons why.
