They have conversion charts. Actually, so do most other clothing sites... But VS is more fun... Title: A sidebar question Mark Post by: BubbaGump on June 06, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Look at Victoria's Secret Website, posted by MarkInTx on Jun 5, 2002
So you ended the Latin American experiment and went back to Russian women. Was there any particular reason? Title: Yes... Post by: MarkInTx on June 06, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to A sidebar question Mark, posted by BubbaGump on Jun 6, 2002
The best of reasons: a Russian woman emailed me. Actually, Ukraine, but you get the idea. I actually decided that my search was "World-Wide" and, as you know, I went to Brazil, and met someone from there. I was considering Thailand, and probably would have at least considered the Phillipines, as well. (I just can't bring myself to do Colombia... I don't care what they say, it just sounds too dangerous for me!) I had communicated with a couple of Mexican ladies, but in the end I was simply too worried that it is too easy for a Mexican to not integrate into our society, with me living in Texas. I had one lady write me from del Rey and she was drop dead gorgeous. But after a few emails, I really got the impression that she was looking, first and foremost, for a ticket to Dallas. (She had many friends and relatives in Dallas). I was too nervoous about her real motives. I posted on the Latin board about my impressions and contrasts about the differences between the Brazilian women I met, and the Russian/Ukrainian women. I woudln't go so far as to say that one was "better". But there are differences. In the end, I didn't decide on a Ukrainian woman.... I decided on Victoria. She just happened to be from Ukraine... I've posted a couple of times on the Latin board and Columbia is very dangerous. I had read what the murder rate is but I don't remember now. It was something like 100 times the US rate and we are above average. Title: Re: Columbia? http://www.fashion-411.com/Size_Conversions.htm Pay attention to the links on the left side of the page. Especially the one Gabbi's Tips. http://visitingrussia.org/ru26.htm I found out my wifes exact measurments in Centemeters, converted them, and then bought things accordingly. I bought really expensive things off ebay for cents/dollar. One dress had $1200 price tag still attached, and I got it for $62. I should point out that I knew Tanya's taste very well. I emailed her photos at the first, and asked her to chose items she liked. She basically chose them all. Anyway, she owns more than one dress now. Thanks..I have a chart just like this one. However, I thought it to be wrong. Women's Suits, Dresses and Coats She told me size 46, but when at the store a 46 {size 12}, you could get 4 or 5 of her in it..hahahahhaha Maybe she meant a size 36..I'm thinking a size 2 at most. I just remembered, that it was a Russian Lady who posted the sizes. Maybe RW or someone else can help. But I still recommend doing it the way I mentioned. I has worked perfect for me. I ran into the same problem with Tanya. She told me she was a size 40-42. Actually in American, she is a size 4-6. Problem is she though Soviet measurements were European. I am not sure I have a Russian size list. However, all you have to do is get her exact measurements. Then if separates (such as a blouse, or pants) no problem. If she is a size 6 top, and a size 8 at the hips, then buy size 8 dresses(the top can be altered! Somebody posted a conversion chart for the Soviet sizes a while ago, but I was unable to find it in the archives. Title: yes..That's one I was thinking about..wsbill, maybe did.n/t Post by: JR on June 05, 2002, 04:00:00 AM |
