Title: E-700 Warning Post by: WmGo on May 31, 2002, 04:00:00 AM There has been some discussion in the past about the merits of EC's e700 email service. If I recall correctly, several posters had mentioned receipt of obvious bogus email. I experienced this yesterday, and I am posting to warn others.
I rarely use e700 to communicate with an FSUW. However, I have posted a bio and receive new email several times a week, which I rarely answer as the ladies are almost always too old, too young or have kids. Early last year I used it frequently to communicate with a lady by the name of Tanya in DNP that I eventually met. Although I did not have romantic chemisty with her, I consider her and her momma to be permanent friends. She would be a good catch for a tall man (she is 5' 9"). Yesterday I received over a half a dozen emails on e700 from ladies from DNP - including my friend Tanya. None of the ladies interested me so I deleted all of them except Tanya, expecting that she was sending a hello. Guess what? That's right - it was a bogus intro letter ("Hi William, I had seen your profile" etc.) sent by EC's local person on Tanya's ID. Obviously, the local person was just trying to make money by sending out bogus letters. They obviously did not know that I already knew Tanya. So they have been caught red handed. I am going to report this to EC and will advise the Board of its response. From what I'm reading from other posters, this is very expensive - $8 an e-mail! There are a lot better and less expensive ways to get correspondence started. Title: Re:700 Post by: WmGo on June 01, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: E-700 Warning, posted by Charles on Jun 1, 2002
That is why I do not use them for general email. I just used them a couple of times to make initial contact with women who can speak English. I agree, $8 is a rip off. The network that EC700 has, while extensive, is uncontrolled and a breeding ground for errorists like this. If they could only get some standards in place and actually enforce them, it could be a good quality service. (You only receive several times a week yet? ha! Wait till your profile's been up there for about six months! lol!) Title: What about Russian Connect? I have not heard of RC. I look for the same age range there that I date here - 25 to 29. Regards from the South! |
