Title: Do you guys remember Betty Broderick? Post by: Quasimoto on March 19, 2002, 05:00:00 AM I was thinking about the imitation jewelry posts below, and someone mentioned Betty Broderick at work yesterday.
For those of you that did not follow her case, she and her husband lived in the LA area. He was a law student when they met, in the midwest I believe, and after dating in college got married. Anyway, after making a few million, she got a little testy. Eventually he left her and married his sexy secretary, who was pretty normal. The wife made threats to kill them, rammed her car through the front door of their house, bought a gun, stole her daughters key to the X's house, and shot them both to death in bead. Well, the daughter testified in court during Betty's murder trial, that one Christmas the father (David, I think) bought Betty a $40,000 dollar diamond and emerald braclet. She opened it, screamed, "you know this isn't what I wanted!" Then threw the braclet against the fireplace mantel. Wow! How could Mr. Broderick make such a mistake? The 18 year old daughter thought she was guilty of 1st degree murder, but she got off with some lesser charge. She said she bought the gun 2 months before to shoot herself, and somehow in a trance found her way into their bedroom, and didn't realize she had loaded the gun twice to shoot them 9 times. Steve, There are way tooo many similarities for my comfort. (All except the killing part.) When I left my Ex because of HER infedelities, she accused me of banging every young thing in my office. Of course she told her imaginary tale to our children, neighbors, family, the court and to all who would listen. She could not accept the fact that I left her to get away from her, not to be with someone else. My anger with her has diminished greatly over the years and now I feel sad for her. She is a digruntled, self centered and cynical woman that has distanced herself from her own children. She is one femnazi that had everything but threw it away. A true rebel without a clue. That was a scary woman, sneaking up and killing her ex and his wife while they slept. Then she claims it was not premeditated. I don't like states that give light sentences to murderous women. Amen! She was a cold blooded psycho killer. She was the epidome of the spoiled woman syndrom. Her husband left her because she was such a B**ch. He was smart, but look what it got him. Steve |
