Title: Scams on a worldwide dating website
Post by: Roy on February 23, 2002, 05:00:00 AM
Has anyone heard of any scams on a website called datingclub.com?  I have chatted with several AW and plenty of RW and UW.  How can I tell when it is a scam other than the obvious them asking for money?  What questions should I ask her to ensure she is for real?  Very curious as I am in correspondence with this woman who I might add is close to my age.  I am 36 and she is 27.  We both have several things in common and the same family values and morals.  She has sent me several pictures of herself and none of them are revealing.  I feel strongly that she is real.  I have her phone number and she has answered the phone and we have chatted a few times.  My concern is that if I fly from USA all the way to Ukraine and she will not be there or she is not for real and her pictures are really not her.  Just curious before I make error.

Thanks,

Roy

Even if your lady is real, there is the chance that you could miss each other at the airport for any number of reasons.  My advice, get yourself some back up plans before you travel.

The webmaster deleted my last post for some unknown reason as my instincts tell me Roy is troll and I have a right to my opinion

Instead of just calling him a troll, why not tell us your reasons for distrusting him?

chances in order to find out is your RW is real. Did you ever consider that she could have the same doubts about you?I have to say that the fact that she had answered the phone and her photoes are modest is already good sign.

You can contact someone like Jack that will have one of his people over there deliver flowers on your behalf.  They can also take a photo of her and you can compare that with the ones she has sent you.  Although nothing is 100%, this will certainly give you much more reassurance.  And the cost is definately a lot less then flying over there if you aren't sure.  Consider it to be like an insurance premimum paid.

You'd have to ask Jack or maybe some of the other posters would know since they have done this.  I'll guess around $50 but that's only a guess.
