Title: FYI Russian Wife Deported from Cancun Post by: BDogg on February 12, 2002, 05:00:00 AM My russian wife (Perm res, and awaiting green card....) and I were deported from Cancun, Mexico. Seems since 9/11 mexico now requires Perm Residence from about 30 countires, to have a visa before entering the country. Anyway everything worked out. American Airlines was at fault, and we stayed in Miami for three nights plus they sent us to Grand Cayman Island, so out vacation was great.

I don't know if that was after 9/11, but in any case travelling around the world, your wife is STILL a Russian citizen and until she gets US citizenship she will be treated by ANY country as Russian Citizen and therefore requires visa to travel. Guys, please make a note and remember about that.
