I am thinking about applying for a Private home stay visa. On the application it asks for name and address of lady who invites me. I put this, then it asks for the address where I will stay while I am there. We have decided to stay in apartments and not her place. We don't know yet where we will stay. Is it ok to put down her address as my temporary address while there, even though we will not be staying there. Are there any troubles that can come of this?

I think anyone serious about this endeavor needs to plan on the fact that they will be making several trips over in the period of a couple of years.  It's nice to be able to just purchase airline tickets, make some last minute arrangements and before you know it, you're back in the promised land.  No hassels, no waiting for visas, just simple travel planning and cost effective after a couple of trips.  Just don't forget who you're doing business with in case they ask at immigration on arrival.  But heck, go through the VIP services at Borispol and it's sweet and NO hassels for businessmen or probably anyone else that uses this service!  Those gals take care of everything and treat you like a VIP!

I used it on my last visit to Ukraine and it really saved my behind on my departure.

I had delayed my departure from Ukraine for a couple of weeks and contacted the airline to changed my tickets but they only changed my international leg of the flight.  

When I arrived at the VIP they discovered this and then were nice enough to contact Chicago and fix it so my tickets were good all the way through my destination.  If I had not used the VIP I would not have found this out and I would have definitely been stuck in Chicago and probably spent several hundred more dollars trying to get home, not to mention the inconvenience of having to stay overnight in Chicago.

The VIP was well worth the money spent.

If I understand this correctly, your question is asking is it okay to lie on the visa application?  Well, I think you know the answer to that.  However, if you're asking what are your chances of having problems if you put down an address that you MAY not stay at while you are there (crap happens and plans change), the answer is probably slim to none.  As to what troubles are likely in the universe of things that could possibly happen, well that depends upon what problems you get yourself into that could lead authorities to question your visa application.  In other words, if you're like 99.99% of the guys that go to Ukraine, you won't have problems, but if you're the rare .01% looking for problems, I guess they could use that on the 6:00 Ukrainian news as to how you fradulently obtained a visa to rape, rob and pillage the country.  Don't sweat the small stuff!

I went the Ukraine the time they just stopped the vvir stuff. registering my visa took 2 days and a box of choclates. I am writing a girl Ukraine now, from a year ago
I made a big mistake, but I learned a lot!! U dis-respect

I'm not meaning to lie, just wondering if it is ok to put that address. I am sure many who go there, do not stay at the one address, do they? Especially if they travel some to see some of the country.

Heck, what do you think I put down when they asked for the business name, address and person on the business visa application????  Thank god for the internet and company web sites.  Of course I put down the company and person I was "doing business" with.  What, you think I'd tell a little white lie on such a burecratic process?  Not me.  Dude, if ya got an address, use it!  Stay where you want, heck, you're on vacation, of course you're going to stay in different places.  They got bigger fish to fry then sweating where you might be nesting.

this part has not changed your lady will ask the local
vvir office for your invite. will take longer!! and she send U the papers, and U send them with passport and visa app. to embassy
for the visa lets U stay up to 6 months. better U apply for 3 years bus. visa they easy to get!!!

Things changed a long time ago.

The lady will not have to visit VVIR office for Private Invite if you are from EU, Canada, Japan or USA She doesn't have to send anything, this changed over a year ago, just write her name and address in the place where they ask "Person who invites" on the app. form.

I applied for a 3 year, mult entry business visa last September.  I received it in November.  It was stamped for 1 year only.  I called the Embassy about this.  I was told, after 9-11, they only issue 1 year visa's.  It is good for the multi entry though.

Yep, ya gotta put the name and address on that too.  But, I'm sure you're a resourceful guy?  If not, contact Jack, he'll fix you up with a business visa at a very reasonable cost.  It'll cost you less in the long run (Initially costs more) as it is multiple entry and good up to three years if they approve it for three years (not difficult).  Recommend highly the business visa, as no invite necessary, just fill out the form (check the archives as I believe the instructions have been posted several times), send 'em the two necessary fees and your passport and wha la, visa!

You say that I am trying to obtain a visa by fraud, isn't getting a business visa the same, if you are not there for business? Not trying to be smart or anything, I'm just new at the visa things. I  have never been to a country where I had to obtain the visa first. Thanks for the info

I would never suggest that any members of this board would commit fraud.  That just doesn't occur with the great guys we all have the privilage of associating with on this law abiding board.  One man's junk is another man's treasure.  Same goes for one man's recreaction is another man's business.  You decide for yourself what is recreation and what is business. :)
