But this list cracked me up... Yeah, I think we've all gotten parts of those "boiler plates" in our responses. But then again, you probably use a boiler plate letter for your first one... right? (Or first couple?) I could also compile a list of Top Ten things an AW says she wants... it would also probably sound pretty familiar. Anyway... don't know if you meant this to be funny, but it made me smile... Title: Re: If you like to write.... That's the caliber of woman/dude your going run into when you write, they get hundreds of letters a day. Will yours have any money inside?
If I were you I would call ole'Jack up and say you would like to inquire about running a ad in some newspapers. They'll run a little ditty about you, which will guarantee you for results. When you arrive in Kiev, you will have this stack of mail to sort through, some hopefully will have pictures. Remember, most women do not understand english. So you can surely bet, their not answering your e-mail messages. Sooo with that knowledge and the fact they know your really coming to Kiev. They'll be all the more encouraged to write you, probably in russian. That's where the photo come in handy. The best anyone can expect is a 50% response to the letters. The half who don't respond are rejections. Mark P.S. Another 50% drop off after two letters. Title: 50%? Post by: Patrick on December 18, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Rejections, posted by mdante99 on Dec 18, 2001
You must be a good catch. I was getting about 20% when I was writing to Latin women a few years ago. Looks DO make a difference, as does age, profession, and even the geographical region you come from. Writing a good letter makes a big difference too. I don't think everybody should expect a 50% response rate. I suspect that's pretty high, but I have no experience with East European women. Title: Re: 50%? 50% IS UNBELIVABLE Patrick, especially for Russian ladies. My own best average over a few years was about 27% and from most the men I have worked with 30% was a really good average. The one guy with the best response rate I ever saw was about 35%. Title: I think it depends Post by: MarkInTx on December 19, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: 50%?, posted by Jack on Dec 19, 2001
When I was going to St. Petersburg, and my letter included the line: "I am coming to St. Petersburg next month and would like to meet you..." My response rate was well over 75%. Depends on how you define it, I guess... Are you including the bad addresses in the over-all number? Then the number goes down. But, if you plan your letter writing campaign around a trip in the near future... I think the number can approach 50% pretty easily. FWIW Title: Time to raise my standards... Thank you, as I am curious. I have been writing on this board for about a year and a half. I met one woman by chance on a dating site. (Was looking for women in my area then happened upon Ulia) I met her in the Ukraine and there were issues that made me cautious so I am moving on. Now I am writing to all these women (From Ukraine only) trying to find the right one and it is crazy. I have never as of yet written to a woman from Ukraine that didn’t respond or write back. I guess I have to raise my standards some… Title: Re: Time to raise my standards... Ryan, There are different avenues to approaching these ladies with each, in my experience being different in the response that can be expected. Also your age makes a big difference depending on the age of women a older man than you writes to. What method are you using. ie purchasing individual addresses, signing up with a site like kiss.com etc where you have unlimited free e-mail contact? Right now, I am just writing to one lady, no time for any more than that right now dropping off communication with several others. However, when I used kiss.com earlier this year before they changed their format. I found that half the ladies did not even open their e-mail. Of the other half, most wrote back to me. Once I sent the picture that I got of you half quit writing to me immediately. I hate to say it but actually it was my photograph and not yours. |
