Title: Hope your not be a loser someday Bear
Post by: febtember on January 07, 2002, 05:00:00 AM
Bear I just wish you the best of luck in your marriage.Hope Honey is the right woman for you.
I was kinda shock when you special mention some of the people in this board about being loser. Why you say that?I just wish  that your not one of them if ever someday.
I know God have special plan for Howard,Kevin,my favorite Humabdos, and all those you have mention "loser".God rewards them for they always humble thereself.
I been together with my husband 6 months ago and been married 4 months already. We both very happy being together and have no single disagreement also, but I cannot bragg and tell to everybody in this board that we have a succesful marriage(please dont get me wrong,I myself can tell I have very successful marriage but cannot tell everybody) not until we both grow very old and still together till death.I still don't know what future bring us.
I meet my husband in penpal route ,everybody know's it.I'm blessed and lucky to have him.I'm blessed because I live in farm and isolated area far from complications and troubles and have arnold(i'm the only creature here being proud of arnold) and kitty cats and ginger our dog with goaty and 7 bunny's.I alway's thankful to God for all the graces he give me.
I keep praying to Good Lord that he may give us more years together, good health and more harvest heheheh....Our love grow everyday.I love my  farm laborer husband more and more.

Raquel,

I have been meaning to post and tell you how much I enjoy your posts, but as you might have guessed I am in my own private little world right now.  I know that Art meant no disrespect, it was simply a poor choice of words that I will razz him about for a very long time!!!  Then again, I did make a bad Mormon joke once, so maybe he was just getting even with me :c)  LOL!

Your sincerity touches me.  Your husband is a very lucky man!  You are very lucky and truely blessed to ahve found each other!

Thanks for sticking up for us "Losers" ;c)

BTW:  I love it when you talk about Arnold the pig :c)

Your story is a happy one that we desperately need on here.  I pray that it continues to be, but with your very realisitic attitude about marriage and obvious love for your husband, I don't think you'll have an problems that the two of you can't work out :c)

I tip my hat to you, Raquel :c)

Don't mind Mr Bear(Grrrrrrrr) hehe. He don't know what he got, his Honey been in RP for a long time, just recently arrived in America. Any Pinay can be a good GaL in the Philippines, but the Guy doesn't know what kinda Woman he got until she has spent time in the good ole America. I agree with You 100% it's wrong to label a Guy "Looser" just becuz he picked the wrong Pinay. We are taking a chance bringing these Women here, we can be either lucky or unlucky. It's always a pleasure to read your Posts smile. It's good to hear a Pinay speak her mind hehehe, greg

I did not call anyone a "loser".  I said "the losers at this game".  I do not think anyone here is a loser - a couple of strange ones (me included) but no losers.  Secondly, I am the only one on this board who as been trying to keep Howard and Ayesa together while everyone else is telling them to quit trying, even to the point of giving up several days of my vacation in the Philippines and some of my funds to try and get them back together.  Read my trip reports starting on Nov 14th.  And for Howards sake I did not post everything and I still think they should get back together.

It seems a lot of posters on this board like to point out the problems after they failed but few plan out their successes.  Its always easy to blame someone else or something else but in reality its always you who makes your life successful.  But in fact those who come here to PL and M-A are trying hard not to make the same mistakes or to avoid the mistakes they or others have made.  I think it is commentable - I did it too.  So I will tell people what I think and pray for the best.  Marriage should not be considered lightly because it is meant to be forever and if something I say hurts or makes someone look at their situation over then I apologize for the hurt but not the opinion.

you're saying Howard should continue on a fruitless mission? To keep sending money, devoting his time, love, and compassion to a relationship that is obviously and completely one sided and hopeless???

Sorry, I disagree. Although I don't think I ever expressed to Howard that I thought he should "quit trying", there comes a time when you have to cut your losses and move on. It seems obvious that nothing he does is going to change the outcome, it ultimately will end sooner or later. Why would you possibly want him to suffer any more????

You're right that marriage should not be taken lightly.

I am planning my success.

How's this.

First time caught in a lie, it's over.

Second time hour+ late for meeting in same day, it's over.

Third time in a week I hear "I have a problem" (I need money because my uncle's cousin's wife's sister is sick), it's over.

Actually, as you are probably thinking, maybe I am planning my failure after all. Because this would surely have eliminated 90% of the ones I have met in just the first few days. It sure would have saved me a ton of heartache had I adopted this policy several years ago.

If only there more like Feb!!!  :)

Larry.

And should continue to torture himself forever?????????  He's already had a year+ of hell, how much more should he have to endure?

Sorry, Bear, on this one I think you're in a fantasy world.

Hey Larry,

That sure is a long time. LOL It's easy to get caught up in doing the "right" thing and end up in a lifetime of "Hell on Earth." I hear these couples every time I'm in a store be-itching at each other. I'm sure that Bear must have been overjoyed to be released from the bondage of his ex...I know I was. I just wish I'd done it 5 years earlier. She didn't get better, only worse. It's better to end it before innocent children are brought into the picture, in an attempt to "save" the marriage. They usually just end up as cannon fodder in an adult war.

Sometimes, when things are not so good, and there is little hope of improvement, actioon must be taken to change the course, or it just goes on with everyone involved unhappy. Life is too short to stay in an unhappy situation without hope of change or gain.

Hi Larry,

I think you should eliminate #2. Being late is a Filipino thing. Have you ever heard of "Philippine time"? My wife call's it "Manyana habit's". I have it real bad from growing up there. She has very little (although some) of it.

Also number 1 is probably unatainable, but try it if you want.

Yes, being late is a Filipino thing. However, if they don't respect me enough to be within an hour most of the time they are certainly not the woman I want. I wouldn't dream of making them wait for an hour+ twice a day! If they don't care enough to try to be on time regularly, there are many other things I would rather be doing than wasting my time waiting on them.

#1 is probably nearly unattainable, you are correct. But in my book, honesty is important in ANY relationship. If you can't trust them enough to believe what they are telling you, what have you got?  Doesn't sound like a very good foundation for a relationship.

My point is, if they can't be honest and dependable, why would ANY of you guys want anything to do with them in the first place??? Personally, I'm not that desperate for company.

Larry.

Strategically place the headboard one inch from the wall.  That should take of the guy next door in addition to the ones upstairs!  I'm really glad things have come together.  Let's make sure we stay in touch.

Well, the "Filipino time" doctrine did not apply to my ex-wife's demands once in America.  When she wanted something, she wanted it NOW.  One of her problems with me was that I was too slow.

Hi feb!

Well, I hope Bear didn’t mean it that way about “losers”. You really have to watch what you say and how you say it sometimes :-)

Sounds like the odds are in your favor that you will have one of those long happy marriages. The hard part after 15-20 years or so is trying to remember not to take your marriage for granted. Just keep working at it and it will be fun 99% of the time.

That picture of Arnold was amazing! Yeah, he looks like a Vietnamese Pot Belly Pig. They are so cute when they are small and lots of people want them for pets. But when they start growing larger, most people try to get rid of them.

I also had a goaty once, but my wife made me shave it off (ROFL). Do your bunnies know how to multiply yet? It’s fun to watch. 7 x 7 = 49… 49 x 49 = 2,401… 2,401 x 2,401 = …

Please keep us updated on Arnold’s belly and let us know how the bunnies’ math lessons are coming along.
