Title: Question about I-134 used at the interview. Post by: Oatmeal on December 08, 2001, 05:00:00 AM I remember reading that many of the ladies were not even asked to show the I-134 Affidavit of Support at their inteview in Warsaw.
But again I thought I read one post recently that the lady was required to show this at her interview in Warsaw. I am planning on sending my fiancee the I-134 just in case she might need it (hopefully she won't) My question is that I am putting on my form that I am self employed in the business of AutoCAD design/drafting. And I will send my past 2 years of W-2 tax forms to support my document, but during the past 2 years I was employed with another company so it would not show any money earned from being self-employed as this is a recent switch in jobs. I would appreciate to hear from those men who have had ladies who have gone through the interview process if the Affidavit of Support was asked for and for those of you who were self-employed if you had any insight on my situation and could be of any help here. Thanks, Jim Title: Re: Question about I-134 used at the interview. I haven't been through this of course, but it might be a good idea to have a recent pay stub. Also go over some basic information about yourself with your fiancee in case she gets asked. I'm glad you found work again in this slow economy. I've got several friends out of work and more will probably lose their jobs. Title: Re: Question about I-134 used at the interview. We didn't get asked questions about it at the interview, but you better believe she will need it! We didn't send it in with the other papers for the I-129F filing however. Since this is one that had to be notarized we decided to wait until the interview to present it to them. In fact, there was a new tax year completed (and return filed) between when the I129F was filed and approved, so I had to revise the supporting materials. -Good luck. -Bill P Title: Re: Question about I-134 used at the interview. My I-134 was collected (from the sealed packet) when my fiancee entered the US by the Immigrations official so you definitely need to present one at the interview. (She also got a thorough grilling by the lady as to her intentions and wedding plans.) Secondly, she was asked for another photo of us together (at the interview) even though I filed two with my petition. Title: Re: Question about I-134 used at the interview. ...it was not asked for...but, maybe that's because I included it in the original paperwork that was sent to the Service Center. In fact, it looked as if the interviewer had all of the papers I sent to the Service Center. The interviewer asked only to see a few emails that my wife and I had sent each other. No big deal. Good luck. Cheers... |
