what the hell are you, a shill for them people. All they care about is getting our credit card number. My ancestors got off the boat in 17th century. While I may not be very computer litterated, I do know enough Title: Re: Re: Rather interesting site found Post by: Zink on November 27, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Rather interesting site found, posted by micha1 on Nov 27, 2001
When did they ask for the card number? I never tried to sign up for the secret URL because WilliamMGi already posted it. I just spent some time looking at and translating ads there. I might try this myself. It had some pretty good advice. I want to hear what you have to say after trying it. Title: Way Kewl Post by: WilliamMGi on November 26, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Rather interesting site found, posted by John2001 on Nov 26, 2001

I deleted all files added during the last hour or so and bumped my security to the max. The "secret URL" sends you to a free matchmaking site on a russian server: love.mail.ru Title: Re: Either is a big cookie or a trojan setting up shop Post by: wsbill on November 26, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Way Kewl, posted by WilliamMGi on Nov 26, 2001

I've set up a much higher security since the advent of popup advertising spam by netfuel. I only turn on scripting in sites that I know about. I also don't use persistent cookies anymore, just per session cookies. I have a lot less problems and browsing is faster. -blm Title: Re: How do you ? Disable active scripting and persistant cookies. jj actually pointed you in the right direction. for IE5 choose Tools/Internet Options/Security tab. With the Internet zone highlighted, choose Custom Level. Under custom level you can disable a lot of features. I recommend "prompt" for download signed ActiveX controls, "disable" for unsigned ActiveX controls, "disable" for any ActiveX controls that are not safe, "prompt" for the rest. Cookies that are stored on your computer should be prompt or disable and session cookies can be enabled. "Disable" Active scripting. Sometimes you have to turn Active scripting back on again for some sites but it's better to leave it disabled for general browsing. If you've had any of those nasty "exitfuel.com" popup bombs that spam advertisements all over your screen, disabling Active scripting prevents that. -blm Title: Re: Re: How do you ? From IE 5 goto Tools Internet Options Secutrity You can wither select the secutity level or Custom Level... You need to change the radio button selection... Title: How do you do that? I don't see those options under the advanced settings or any reference to them in the help index. You must be one of those ActiveX dudes. I use Internet Explorer as my browser. ....I wanna talk to ya like a father.... WTF is wrong with you, boy?? You runnin on all cylinders? Got some kinda sugar problem? Can't ya see you're just steamin folks up here? Look, even if ya ain't Max, you be lookin the fool. Why don't you just give it a rest because you're babblin like an demented brook. Do you have even the slightest inkling of how stupid you look? You know that momentary feeling you get when you have a chair tipped back on two legs and at some point it almost goes over? Ya know what I'm talkin about? Well, me thinks you feel like that full time. You're outta control, with a serious case of buffoonitis, and you can't even see what damage your doing to yourself. I suggest you stop right now or you'll be eaten alive by these guys. (lol, Some of 'em are a mite twisted, ya know.) Don't be one of those dysfunctional, multiphobic individuals in a constant state of panic I refered to earlier. Beyond me why you would continue here at all, it's time for you to move on don't ya think? Why would you drive yourself to the point where you'll be completely ignored? Does that make sense? Isn't that *exactly* the opposite of what you're trying to ahieve?? Or maybe you want Patrick to put the big "B" on ya. I suggest you shut it down right now, because you're circling the drain as it is. Take it from a guy who was born with a gift for irking people, sometimes you gotta step back to get the correct view. Besides, you're giving the computer geeks of the world a bad name. Title: Re: Pssst, hey jj........comere.... Really nice try LP---but you are wasting your considerable writing skills. " You can talk to a horse alot, but you can't tell him much." Its like a block of wood, at best. This guy is "whacked". LP, I know that jj will never understand what a HELPING post you have written for him, but great try any way. What some posters will never understand is that even though everyone may have an opinion, that opinion may not be worth squat because of lack of experience, knowledge or background. I continue to be frustrated with the "expert" advice given here by people that don't know sh!t. LOL KenC Title: Hey, LP, you outdid yourself.... ....Not now, but I'll feel good later, when future travelers of Cyperspace stumble across your shallow grave. A dirt mound, scattered among the others, the simple wooden cross will read: "Here lies jj/Max. There are none so blind as those who will not see." Ya see jj, if one or two folks think you're an idiot, than OK, screw 'em, their entitled to their opinion. But when a dozen come to the same independent conclusion, it's in your best interests to step back and take a closer look. Can't understand why you wouldn't see that. Instead, you simply pull the wagons into a tighter circle, thinking you have the resources to win a battle already lost. You need to visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument to better understand this kind of logic. lol...At least they had the advantage of not being their own worst enemy. Oh well, I tried. I give up on ya, I hope you exhibit better insight when the time comes to deal with an intercultural marriage. Title: Three cookies added.. Spy Log ID is one..
