The hero in question is a female general in Afghanistan who expresses her views on American/Western feminist. Title: Re: A woman hero tells her story... The problem with a lot of the activism I see is that it focuses on meaningless symbols. They seem to be unable to look at the deeper things. Just like the general said, education, economy and infrastructure are what should be focused on. But more people are interested in the burka. It's happened in the past where activists would make a flashy show. Maybe get their 10 seconds of glory. And then they bugger off with out really changing anything for the better. |
