That is terrible but I would think that with such a mix up that they would let her reschedule her interview. I don't know if it would be very soon but I cannot see why they would not allow her to reschedule it. I know this is not much help to you but I just wanted to give you some words of encouragement. I am sure that everything will work out fine. Title: Re: Re: HELP!!!!! Post by: ssutton on November 14, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: HELP!!!!!, posted by Oatmeal on Nov 14, 2001
I dont think there will be a problem rescheduling either but the time we just lost and the money! plus we went through the TSC so you know the wait. She feels terrible, i cannot say anything to cheer her up. She is going to go to the embassy tommorow as she thought she was supposed too and see if they can get her in today or tommorow so that she can leave Saturday for NYC as planned. Thanks for the words of encouragement, can anyone think of some sortof a good excuse to get her in tommorow??? -Scott Title: how good an actress is she? Scott, I would tell her to just go tomorrow and act as if that was her day. Let the Embassy tell her that she missed it by a day. Tears and sobbing have a time and a place, and THAT will be the time and place for them! You have nothing to lose at this point. Best of luck and let us know how it turned out. ssutton, So far so good. Russian women CAN BE MOST CONVINCING when they need to be. My wife just walked out of the customs area in Chicago when she realized she had left her purse inside. She went to the guard to allow her back inside to get it. He shook his head no and pointed to the 4' tall sign above the bank of doors that read "NO ENTRY ALLOWED" (repeated 3 or 4 times). He was explaining to her the only way to get back inside was to go to the office upstairs and and yada yada. Please keep in mind that Lena was in this country for all of 10 mins or so. I stood back and abserved the debate. (There are times when it is best to let them work their magic alone and this was one of those times) After a short while, the guard opened the doors for her to re-enter the customs area to get her bag. LOL. Here's hoping that your finacee is as successful. KenC |
