Title: The INS in a nutshell Post by: TimM on October 16, 2001, 04:00:00 AM On friday, I went to the local (OKC) INS office to pick up a K-1 visa package (or, failing that, the individual forms) for a friend. I entered the office for the first time since my wife's AOS interview, and looked for the rack of forms. There wasn't one. At the back of the office FOUR employees (3 INS employees and a rent-a-cop) were sitting around drinking coffee and talking (it was after lunch time). I asked where the rack had dissapeared to and was told there wasn't enough staff to restock it, so I had to take a number and wait for my turn at the window. There was one employee answering questions, checking documents, etc. I took a number---85 (they were serving 60). After 30 mins, the woman at the counter had got up to number 66. The four employees were still in the bcak and had not done a lick of work ( I was staring at them the whole time). This is why it takes forever for the K-1 visa. These people suck..we have ton's of illegals spereading anthrax and blowing up buildings, and the INS spends it's time making CITIZENS jump through hoops.

I bet if you had a video camera, with a time and date stamp, they would have suddenly got busy. Call a local investigative reporter. Title: Re: The INS in a nutshell Post by: Den on October 16, 2001, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to The INS in a nutshell, posted by TimM on Oct 16, 2001
Tell me about it. It's not only the Feds. I have to deal with the idiots at the local level in Calif frequently. I's enough to drive you crazy. |
