Title: About K-1 and green card photos. Post by: Oatmeal on October 11, 2001, 04:00:00 AM My girl called me today to tell me that she is making some photos for me to submit for the K-1 visa and she says that the people at the photo shop tell her that now they require a straight on photo shot for the green card and/or K-1 visa. Has anyone heard anything about changes being made to the required photos for the G-325A forms (adit photos (3/4 turn)) or is this just a miscommunication of some kind. My girl now tells me she thinks she will need a straight on face shot. I have read posts in the past where some guys have been told the same story by their fiancees before but the photos they sent were wrong and it postponed their K-1 application until they got the correct photos. I just want to make sure I get it right the first time. In any case I will go to the INS site and read if they have any changes marked for this.
Thanks, Jim Title: Reading from our copies Post by: SteveM on October 12, 2001, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to About K-1 and green card photos., posted by Oatmeal on Oct 11, 2001
For the I-129F, we used 3/4 profile (ADIT), per instructions. For the K-1 at Moscow, we used full-face (passport) for the visa (per instructions) and the medical exam (there were no separate instructions) For the adjustment of status application after marrying, 3/4 profile (ADIT), with sets for the I-485 and the EAD. Worked just fine. Good luck... Title: Re: About K-1 and green card photos. Just submit both and they will return to her what is not needed.Different Embassies have different request and use different packet applications."These packets have different instructions pertaining to the specifications so play it safe. That's good info and advice. My wife had extras because of that confusion of what I had read here and what she was mailed from Moscow. She arrived here with the extra photos after the interview. The 3/4 view (m-378) are the ones required for the G-325A form. Later on (interview time) your fiancee will need regular straight-on shots as well as more 3/4 shots for the medical exam and actual visa. As another poster suggested, she may as well get both done at the same time. I'm not sure I would submit both the straight-on shots and the 3/4 shot with the G-325 as the straight-on ones would be wasted. Title: Re: Don't do it the hard way... Just have a set of each type made, and submit both versions. No more headache. |
