How much would one ned for a 3-4 week trip to the PI? Staying in northern Luzon and an average hotel, nothing super fancy.Thanks

$250 per week is plenty if you stay in simple hotels. If you move around a lot (island hopping) and want to stay in superior hotels, count on $500 per week. Baguio City is the "Summer Capital" for many of the affluent Filipinos and therefore more expensive than the rest of the Philippines.

what you consider "average", or "super fancy".

With lizards or without.
With A/C or without.
With running water or without.
With community toilet / shower, or without.
With private toilet and shower in your room, or without.

In the Philippines, "average" is in the eye of the beholder.

If you want a real taste of life, ask your filipina lady to show you how to wash your underwear in a river with a bar of tide soap.

It really is, all relative.

Still washes her undies with a bar of soap and a bucket outside,a few month's ago our plumbing backed up it was noooooo problem for her she just went outside in the back yard till we got it fixed,now i remember why i don't have a dog anymore

North Luzon is not expensive, if you where in Sagada you can get by on P300 a day room and board. Humabdos
