Title: looking for 5 things to do Post by: fathertime on November 28, 2005, 05:00:00 AM Heading back to Cali in Late January. I want to do something other than taking my woman out to eat and movies. I am looking for suggestions on things to do that are not too extreme (Hangliding). What do you guys got? P.S. I already got bowling covered.
Thanks Charly T. Title: Re: looking for 5 things to do Post by: soltero on November 28, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to looking for 5 things to do, posted by fathertime on Nov 28, 2005

Soltero Excellent options thank you. I like the Horseback riding and Go Kart Track. Do I need more information on these options or can I simply tell a regular cab driver and he will where these places are? Anybody else got other ideas? The go kart place is part of an amusement area with arcade games and a soccer field. It is about 5-10 minutes north of Chippe Chappi. The taxistas should know where it is with some 'splainin. (smile) I don't remember the name. The horse ranch is about 30 minutes outside of Cali by cab. Starts with a "P" (Palmira???). The cabbies know where it is also. 2 hour horseback ride partly through a river. When you get to the river, sometimes the rancheros rattle the horses to get the women thrown into the water. Talk about wet t-shirt contest...keep your girl close to drive those guys off. is nearby too. you can go to the volcano. I second the horseback riding option. that's always a good one. there is some new "town" they constructed in Cali that has a bunch of shops and restaurants. that was pretty cool. you can cut sugar cane and make your own aguardiente. you can go see a "live show" at various night time establishments. My wife gave me that "they're going where, look" when I mentioned Popayán to her. She concured that there's plenty of interesting off the beaten path places to visit in Colombia....it's just that she would check w/friends & family in the area before going.... Anyone with recent updates on places other than the usual haunts? Thanks Malandro, What kind of live show? I have not seen a play since high school but that could be good. Do they have Phantom of the Opera or Cats in Cali? Do you have a theater that you would recommend? Gracias fathertime Title: the one I saw didn't have alot of dialogue but...
