I have a degree in Psych., BFD, but chose another career, I'm a garbageman and proud of it. I come from a long line of bluebloods, but my fiance is poor even by filipino standards. We'll have our wedding reception at the yacht club and in two years, head out on a four year around the world sail, yeah, Europe, Greece, the South Pacific, Indonesia, Australia, etc., etc., cool, huh?. In the meantime, I make 50g a year as a G-man(sorry no degree)...Celebrate diversity, don't slam it. Follow your dreams, but be careful, they just might come true....

I'm in the automotive industry so am close to the industry news. Remember the GM strike the year before last? Well the Flint MI, Delphi stamping plant workers went on strike for more money. The average income was $92,000 per year (about CDN$ 142,000) and the average workday 4 1/2 hours. Awww, the poor guys have to slave so hard for such low pay. Anyway this is roughly 4 times the average hourly pay of the engineers designing the parts - for tossing sheets of steel into a punch press? Hey G-man, I come from a line of blue bloods too. I love to dumpster dive. Maybe we're related. Do you hold your beer bottle with your pinkie finger out like me? :o) When drinking from a can, I use a "Steinway." It is a handle that clips on to my beer can. I have them in gold and silver so that I can match the appropriate can colour. Speaking of "Steinways," a lady gave me a Yamaha Piano recently. I was searching for "treasure" on bulk trash pickup day. I usually pick up old furniture and my sister-in-law refinishes (shabby sheik). She made thousands of dollars last year selling recycled junk furniture to rich people. You know, people with college degrees. In fact, she has a Master's degree and left her career as a teacher. She now works less hours and makes more money as a "junk" furniture dealer. By the way, it is a good thing WG was born in Canada. She might have been abandoned (or worse yet) in her ancestral homeland of China. To me, rescuing these girls from death and abandonment is a far nobler cause than worrying about "old, fat, wrinkled" White and Black guys marrying younger Asian women and treating them like queens. I have several friends that have adopted daughters from China. I wonder how many other baby Chinese girls disappear and are never found? Why are all of the Fem-Nazis after the descent guys and leave the perverts like William Jefferson Clinton alone? They turn a blind eye to the world sex slave trade and attack guys who are just trying to find true love. Oh I know, I know! Bill, and those sex slave traders are rich businessmen and professionals with college degrees. The kind that WG wants to marry. Maybe she should explain her "real" interest in us. She is probably just bored. I hope she stays! We haven't had this much fun in a while. :o)) It sure beats talking about toilet paper. Dave H. Title: I Love it! Smooth Sailing! Although I haven't taken courses in women's studies, I believe you are on quite a different wavelength than Susan B. Anthony or Elizabeth Cady Stanton. They crusaded for womens' rights, and they helped shape America into being a better place to live. But the stuff you slam us guys about, first of all, I'm sure they could not conceive such issues. Second of all, if they were alive today, I think they'd find the issues we're slammed about to be ridiculous. On the same token, think of the framers of the Constitution and the separation of Church and State. Nowadays, school vouchers are controversial, because it infers government money being diverted to schools in religious settings, among other things. "God" can't be mentioned in public without stirring up commotion. Morals stem from religious upbringing, therefore the logic sometimes infers that the government should be impervious to some acts (like adultery) that causes harm to others, because after all, it boils down to religious convictions, and that's as far as it goes. The social consequences: The breakdown of the family unit, and ultimately the breakdown of society. - Kevin Title: Re: Real, huh? Ray and all, I had spaghetti all over Butuan, from Greenich (think that is how it's spelled) and Jollybees to homemade. It all had cut up hotdogs in it. Is this typical for the Philippines or is it a Butuanonian thing? Since they serve it that way at Jollybees, I just assumed that it was. I didn't get to try the MacSpaghetti. Also, I noticed that most people I spoke with pronounced pizza as "peacha." Is this typical for the PI or just the Bisayan coming out? Dave H. Dave, Yep, "Peacha" has replaced "Pizza" all over the Philippines as far as I have seen. I have heard rumors that in some remote parts of the Philippines, "CHOC-o-Late Peacha" is even popular! :) (Call me strange, but I could sit happily for an hour and just listen to Filipinas pronounce the word "chocolate"!) Same with the hotdogs in Spaghetti too. Since Melly has been here though we have invented our own unique version of spaghetti that is probably just as strange though so I can't laugh at the hotdog thing. I even kind of like the hotdogs that way. We make spaghetti with piles of cut up vegetables cooked with the meat - approx. 2 parts vegetables to 1 part meat. I never tried any of the Philippine unique items on the menu when we went to McDonalds in Manila, preferring to get the familiar BigMac during the rare chances to taste American food during that month long trip! Somehow it just doesn't seem decent to eat anything with rice in it at McDonalds! :) SteveG Title: Re: Re: You want hotdogs with that? That still does not explain your interpretation of my desires to have a houseslave. Most posts have supported your desires and dreams. However most posts also suggest that you "live" life before you pass judgment on what life is and isn't. If life was so cut and dried, so set by expectations and realized desires, this posting board(many others too) would not exist and have no reason to... Everyone here has drawn from experience and "living" to offer you their opinions good or bad, serious or sarcastic. This is a "study", right? Title: Re: Well...
