here's a post that actually was defending my gritty travelblog on dating, safety, etc., in COL. AND it came fr a Gringa of all women!  JA,JA.. a little background before reading.  I'm staying at Pete's, met seeker(good guy actually), and been tons of dates.  All are sweet, but some are not up good looking enough(i'm dog ok!) so i'll cut'em loose in a nice way.  AnywayThe reason i'm posting on this board is because it does give an small insight on dating models and the potential pitfal if you try to date them but are not up to snuff yourself.

PS. very few guys can KEEP a models, i think CP is the most famous one, but he gets strippers/model in the US too.  I'm pretty sure his CORE game plan is same in US or COL.

After reading your post I can see you are a good person who sees reality. have a great time in Colombia and date all you can. That way you will have no regrets when you are ready to settle down. Now you see what women have to put up with :) :). I also have to admire you for taking a realistic approach and not spending much money to flash and impress. In the long run you will end up with a woman who is sincere.

It amazes me sometimes when men say they do not throw money around in Colombia,yet going through post you read they bought cell phones,go to expensive dinners,take girls shopping,buy condos with cash ect and conveniently cannot see they are making a woman fall in love with the image of the high roller. Pretty acttractive for a woman who has never lived that life. Unfortunately that sort of man is setting this woman up for a dissapointment if he does not live the "high roller" life in the U.S.

Avoid the models as they are very much looking for attention and most will love to come to the U.S. because they imagine they will make $100's of thousands per year easily. Now we deal with apparel so I am very familiar with "models" and personalities.Even in the U.S. my husband and I can get beautiful Imodels 18-20 for $100 per session which is amazing as we require 5-7 hour shoots. I am always amazed at the response we get in any craigslist advertisement we put out. Though we do not use nudity we push the envelope with our ads and usually the girl is nude but barely covered with a small piece of our apparel. I have come to realize no matter how beautiful the girl and sweet that "model" personality thrives on attention . they will practically work for free just for exposure if they have no other work lined up.

Even with little pay they are willing to work because the image a model projects makes her feel important. they will always want to be with the "high roller" or a man they think has money as it just confirms to everyone how 'important she is.so avoid at all cost:) But there will be lots of great women you will meet. I loved Colombia and the people are great! I hope to be back many more times.

So date as much as you can, keep us updated in your travelog,have fun and remember if you fall in love make sure you give your heart to a woman with a good head on her shoulders and a great heart!!!

That doesn't sound like a comment from a typical gringa. However, it is great advice. CaliPro may spend time with the model types but the emphasis is SPEND when he hangs out with them, so don't be fooled. Follow that advice and you will be posting the next success story. You are still a dog though. ;-)

Caslug, not sure if you are using Dave. I never really knew his model agency exited until CP mentioned it recently on another forum but admittedly I was intrigued.  I ran a post earlier asking about his agency and while the feedback was positive – I have my doubts on the models too.  In fact, I am friendly with a gorgeous Calena model from the Midwest that married well lets say not an equally attractive man and eventually left him after finding a younger/buff guy.  Anyway, I know CP apparently does well with the models and not sure you are using Dave but would be interested in hearing your comments.  His ladies are absolutely gorgeous but I have my doubts.  I mean, lets face it – most agency women are ok with unbalances in age/looks but these beauties have got to have a lot of options and maybe a little spoiled? Looking for fame/fortune?  Since you are there and writing about it – I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter but possibly your gringa's advice there is prudent.  Yet nothing gained, nothing ventured (just don’t tell that to Okie – sorry okie, I hope you get on the plane soon and bring home a hottie so we are all jealous)

PS anyway, i am considering taking a break from Colombians for the moment. I have another destination in mind

I'm not using any agency.  Meeting models is not that hard i think, there's TONS of girls that are "models" many work as hot hostess at top restaurants or bars.  What IS HARD is keeping them interested in you, either via "coolness" factor, money factor, or power factor.  Otherwise, you'll get it's an uphill battle.  

The gringa posted as a warning/advice that's all.  If you know the girls is going "using" you to get something, fine!  As long as you both understand the bargain.
