Deekdog, The best area in Medellin is El Poblado. That's where alot of Gringos are buying. Depending on how many rooms and how big an apartment, you can expect to pay around 60 grand...and that's for a kickass place. You should be comfortable at Steve's as long as the construction is done. Just don't stay at Colombian Love Connection's Medellin Mansion. I'm willing to bet that by the end of the year something bad is going to happen at the place. WC Title: El Poblado! Every gringo who goes to Medellin latches onto Poblado and never lets go. It's like a security blanket. Now I admit that it is nice and it is safe but it's far from everything and expensive by Colombian standards. There are other nice areas of Medellin that are much less expensive. I really like where my wife's apartment is located in Belen Miravalle near Laureles. He has also sold over 10 apartments to clients of mine. We also have an excellent bilingual attorney and will provide you with a lot of valuable information about living in Cololmbia.
