Title: Anniversary
Post by: JaySlo on August 07, 2005, 04:00:00 AM
Happy to report that we are still honeymooning. My wife continues to amaze me with her thoughtfulness and of course her beauty. I can't help but smile when I think that she is a beautiful person who happens to be very beautiful. Here are a few observations..
Be prepared to be their whole world. 24x7x365 The biggest adjustment for me was someone always being around. Always!
Have a plan ahead of time. My wife already drives, speaks english, has a decent job, and enjoys traveling the states. I couldn't imagine how things would be if she didn't have some diversions. Our dance class begins soon (ballroom), and I am looking forward to that. It is such a departure from our normal routine and she is more gung-ho than I am.
The biggest disagreement we have had so far is how much to assist her family. She enjoys a good salary and feels she should help her family using our standard of living. I don't mind helping but I won't permit her to support her family back home, only to assist. We are very generous and send gifts to other family members. I am happy to say that she now sees the difference between helping and supporting.
We are truly very happy, really enjoy each others company, and still have those long deep conversations that we had when we were apart.
I very happy I have my soulmate. I wish the same for deserving ones.
Tengo mi media naranja y estoy muy feliz. Deseo lo mismo para todos.

Some how I overlooked this thread. Always glad to hear a success story. Sounds like you two have done it right.

My wife still more-or-less supports her family in Peru, rather than assists, but she handles it all herself with the money she earns at her job. Occasionally I think she over does it a bit, but she says she feels guilt from being the lucky one who now lives in the Promised Land while her family is still in Peru. I had never really thought about it, but I kind of understand her point of view. Also she was the main income earner in her family before we married.

Glad to hear that things are good!
