Title: LLM vs LAI (for Okie) Post by: papi on July 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM Okie, I have used both LLM and LIA and my impression is that the agencies in Cali are more negotiable, maybe because there is a lot more competition. I dont have it in front of me but I think Nelson quoted my friend Frank 5 nights with appts and airport p/u for $675. Reasonable enough and think that is the price listed on their site. I think if I was going to take another stab at an agency in Colombia - I might be inclined to try CaliVip. I think they charge $100 per day all inclusive if I am not mistaken and I hear the place is nice or you can do citas only for far less and stay in a hotel. With LLM, i did not like the small hotel they own. They will put you up in a better place, the Andes plaza next to their office. But I would not do that unless they would agree to sell you a cita/party package only and let you make your own housing arrangements because you would be better off making your own res rather than buying their tour packages including room. They are entitled to make a profit but I was not happy with how they handle things with respect to the housing. With the women, they are both about the same - Nelson comes with high recommedations by most on the forum. I did find the women in Bog to be a little less of the party type girls you might find in Cali

I tried to be more diplomatic about it...but if you look up "diplomacy" in the dictionary I dont think we are going to see a pic of Heat. Just kidding, anyway, if anyone wants more details on why I was not happy with the hotel accommodations via LLM at both their places including the Plaza and their small hotel, I will happy to elaborate. Otherwise, their service was acceptable and the girls are OK Title: Re: Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women and shitty hotel n/t Post by: Ricardo on July 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women and shi..., posted by papi on Jul 24, 2005
I would like to know what you didn't like about both the service (agency and ladies) and the accomodations. I was considering them at one point... thanks Ricardo Title: Re: Re: Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women and shitty hotel n/t Post by: papi on July 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women and..., posted by Ricardo on Jul 24, 2005
Ricardo, keep in mind that Heat said nasty ladies and shitty hotel, those are not my words. My first trip to Bogota I tried LLM and on my second used LAI. I was not happy with the hotel situation with LLM because the first night I purchased their upscale hotel offer which at the time was the Andes Plaza which is an OK hotel located conveniently next to their office. In the morning, I was surprised to find out that the hotel did not include breakfast almost all hotels in Latin America include breakfast. But what I soon discovered was that LLM apparently must have negotiated a cheaper rate with the hotel netting off the cost of breakfast yet they were charging me almost double the rate had I not just reserved the room directly myself. I found this out several days later when I asked the hotel for a quote on the room and it was about half the price I was paying LLM and included breakfast. My first morning I mentioned to the LLM staff that I was surprised the hotel did not include breakfast for the price I was paying they suggested I move to their other hotel which is several blocks away from their office near Nelson's place but would include breakfast. Well, Heat got that part right, their smaller hotel which I think they own is a dump. I guess I did not appreciate that I was overpaying and getting less in terms of amenities had I made the res myself and then they tried to nickel and dime me for small things at their dumpier hotel. Plus, for awhile and not sure if they still do but you could not use their services unless you purchased their tours with hotel. Nelson is somewhat guilty of this too I think he promotes his place as a B&B but you pay for part of the B in the morning. But at least Nelson's place is reasonably comfortable and clean. Compare that to agencies in MDE or Cali where you can get a lot of amenities included like laundry, food, drinks, etc depending on the place. They are less flexible in Bog Title: Re: Re: Re: Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women and shitty hotel n/t Post by: Ricardo on July 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Re: Latin Life mates+nasty women..., posted by papi on Jul 24, 2005
Thanks for the valuable information. I did check out their apartohotel near Salitre Plaza, and it is not bad, but I did speak with another guy staying there too. He had not a good word to say about their agency, saying services were overpriced, didn't have a good selection of women, many of the women were not showing for appointments, etc. He also opinioned that the lady running the agency with her american husband was trying to nickel and dime him. So it (the negative commenmts) seem to be consisten about this agency - I also agree that their hotel (next to nelson's) is overpriced. Ricardo |
