So,we will probably see each other in again in Cali before I ever get back in the Portland area. But thanks for the invitation, and bringing some things to me in Cali. [This message has been edited by Mazu] This is my office line and already on my web site that gets 4,000,000 visitors per year. Trust me, it is OK. I do want to say thanks for all the editing you do. I assume it is a somewhat thanksless job. Matt Title: Re: US Trip Post by: doombug on July 25, 2005, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to US Trip, posted by Pete E on Jul 24, 2005
Once again, yours is an enviable life. I just bought a dictionary of famous quotations, and under "Travel," there are a few that stand out: First off, don't take this first quote the wrong way. I only include it because of the recent threads regarding the importance of learning the language of a host country. So, first, the dark ones: "No man should travel until he has learned the language of the country he visits. Otherwise he voluntarily makes himself a great baby--so helpless and ridiculous." "Those who go overseas find a change of climate, not a change of soul." "Foreigners can always tempt one to abandon any sensible habit."
"He that travels much knows much." "I travel not to go anywhere but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." "He who would travel happily must travel light." Thanks for the travel log. Peace out! Title: Re: US Trip Post by: papi on July 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM |
