Hi All,
Usually I just hang out here and read all of your advice, but I thought I'd go ahead and share a little about my trip last week to Colombia. I was in Colombia for 10 days- 3 in Cali, 3 in Bogota, and 4 in Medellin.
Since there is so much talk about the TLC parties, I wanted to tell you about my experience there. I am not sure if any other posters were there (other that the infamous CALIPRO- who I had the pleasure to meet), but I went to all 3 events- Friday and Saturday night and the Sunday "pool" party. This was my first time to Colombia, but I have visited several times to Peru and Brazil. I wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. The parties were well organized, and each night there were at LEAST 500 girls there if not more. Most were there looking for the man of their dreams, most were fairly attractive, and MOST were VERY young (as in 18-22). My buddy and I had a blast meeting lots of girls, and ended up dating some each night after the parties. Each night we'd grab a couple and head into town to dance and party more. I didn't meet anyone I was really interested in, but my buddy did. He ended up flying her to Medellin to spend the next weekend with us. Each of us had a private interpreter, and they were a riot. We ended up making great friends with most all the interpreters, who were young, cute, and super friendly. Ours went out with us each night and ended up being as much friends as helpers.
I have read a lot about peoples thoughts about TLC, Bruce, the cost of the parties, the value, etc. I would say this- is it expensive? YES. Is it worth is? Only you can decide that. I will say that never in my life have I been in a room with 500 attractive single girls that all want to know a nice gringo. Where else can you find that situation? Is it difficult to know the girls in such a short time? For sure. But I'd say it is really what you make of it. I'd do it again in a second, it was just too much fun.
I met several girls in Bogota and also Medellin. In Bogota I actually dated a girl that worked at an agency. She was super fun to party with and we had a great time. I met a girl in Bogota that is a Doctor- 30, cute, and very nice. We plan to keep in touch and get to know each other more. Also met a beautiful Paisa and spent most of the weekend with her.

I'm sorry I didn't tell TLC party attendees before the Cali
events that if they say the following they may get a standing ovation from the calenas:

did anyone observe any standing ovations or rookies belting
out a love ballad in front of god and everybody and embarrassing other AM's.

Interesting subject- this has to be the biggest waste of time at these parties. TLC seems to think the Ladies love it, I saw most of the girls falling asleep. Some guys were a lot more entertaining than others, and those were the ones that made an impact. The ones that said "I'm Bob from Bismark, and I want to find the perfect girl of my dreams" were the most boring.. Especially when the had to use an interprerer. I spoke in Spanish and came up with some sillyness to say. At least everybody laughed.
The 2nd night, several guys ducked out the back door and refused to sit on stage for another hour. For me I didn't need any more exposure. I believe this time could be much better spent in other ways.

Was anyone in attendance a combination of buck rogers/captain kirk/horatio alger or rico sauve. I want to
know if they had any success.
If HEATER or Jakester would quit picking on TLCbrucester
we could move on to more interesting discussion threads.
Did you talk with Calipro?
I think that CALIPRO has gone to ground down  in Cali.

I have been preaching to the choir about this for so long .. It is about time some one  besides HEAT amd I realize it ...... his tours are a waste of money ... you could sit in cali for 3 weeks at some agency and MEET ladies and not just SEE them ....

Big Bruce is laughing all the way to the bank because you guys want to pay his fee for what ?????????????

It is time to WAKE up and smell the roses , his tours are the most expensive and give you the least chance of MEETING  a lady .... He is giving you some thing to look at .... that is all ........

Go to a Mcdonalds and you can see the same thing you just paid a grand for ............

I was hoping that someone would do a trip report about the latest TLC party in Cali, especially in view of all the recent comments about TLC. Are you sure there were more than 500 ladies EACH NIGHT at the parties? Even TLC doesn't claim that many based on it's website. Regardless, the turnout at the TLC parties in Cali is awesome. Even if 60+ gringos show up, the ratio is still very good. No other agency can match the TLC parties in Cali in terms of the number of ladies. No doubt there are more "professional daters" in Cali than other Colombian cities. But I wouldn't write off Cali as a poor place to meet a future wife, as others have asserted here in the past. Hell , you can go sit in any McDonalds in South America and see 500 beautiful ladies alll day long ......... What did you come home with after blowing your wad of money ?????????????????????? nobody ever said there was not ladies at these parties , or they were not organize ...

if is throw your money away then I suggest all rookies go there ....... then when you come home and see your credit card bill and sitting there thinking oh that was fun ...... and you are still sleeping alone ..... go for it ..

I frankly do not know what to think now with all the conflicting opinions but strangly I am more curious than ever to see this Bruce character with the Towel around his neck in the tennis shorts (With belly drooping over).  The picture that has been painted of him makes me giggle every time I think of it.

To wildbilman: I am wondering while you were at the parties there were any extremly attractive girls present.  I noticed that you wrote in your original post "Fairly attractive" is there more to that or am I reading into something too much.  I ask this because it would probably take someone bordering on very attractive to make me want to take it to another level.  Tastes are obviously different but in YOUR opinion were there many "Very Attractive" girls present.

I never saw or met Bruce, and wasn't looking for him. His boy Raymond ran the show, and aside from his never ending pitch to sell his mileage improving fuel additive, he was an ok guy I guess.
About the girls, I saw a LOT of average looking girls, girls I could meet here with no problem. There were also SOME very attractive girls. I talked to each of them, and unfortunately in each case there was something that didn't work for me- and it was usually one of 2 things, either they were 18 years old, or they had kids. I went out Saturday night with a stunning black girl, she was 20. I actually liked her but soon found our she was a whacko. I think she must have been a stripper- I have only seen girls dance like her (you know those moves) in a strip club. She also seemed really fake and my friends didn't like her. She must have asked me 20 times - "do you want something SERIOUS WITH MEEEEE???". She was pretty strange. On the other hand, my buddy Shannon met a girl he really likes, she was 27, really sweet and has a daughter. My buddy has a kid too so he was open to that. The girl came to Medellin and hung out with us and she was pretty nice. An interesting thing to do is ask OTHER girls in Cali what they think about these parties (which I did). You will get a lot of different answers from "they are a good idea", to "I wouldn't be caught dead there". If you want to talk live about the parties send me an e-mail and we can talk.

He is always sending me emails, but I am not interested.  By the way, when you said it's like painting a target on him, exactly what did you mean?  I hope you don't mean someone in BAQ would commit some act of violence because of the flag shirt?  Maybe you just mean he looks like a goofy tourist?

but what kind of ladies?  I have seen several TLC events while staying at the Hotel Intercontinental and the quality of the women is very poor.  Yes there are many of them.  But I would say that the vast majority were very poor wife material.  

The mix was illiterate desperate bad girls and hookers along with some old ladies and many fat women.  Very poor quality.  

Now to a green horn that might not look too bad considering what is in the states but paying $1000.00 dollars for three parties?  Come on!

You could spend that money in a much better way and really find a nice girl.

TLC parties are rookies who know nothing about this process.

Thanks for the feedback- yes I knew all about the things you are talking about well before going into the deal. I went to the parties without expectations, and really just wanted to see them since I had heard so much about them. There were certainly a lot of less desirable girls there, young, poor, green card sharks, etc. I sorted them out with no problem. For me the opportunity to meet that many girls in one place at one time was something I just always wanted to see. In the end I met some GREAT people, expanded my personal network considerably and made priceless connections in Cali. As far as Bruce selling entry to guys in the lobby, who cares? I knew all of that before I ever went and factored all of it in.
I also met several girls that I had been talking to from Amigos.com, Match.com, etc. I had probably 12 girls already lined up to meet that I have been talking to for months. The TLC party was just a part of my overall plan. As many people have said here, the whole process is really "buyer beware". I did see some guys there get hooked up with girls in one day and were talking serious with them. For me that is loco. Even if I did meet a girl there at TLC, or anywhere for that matter, it is really just the begginning of the process. I have done this enough times to know you have to take a lot of time to know the girl, and I would never rush into anything.
The next time I go to Colombia, I'll probably do the Agency thing with some of the owners that post here. I'll arange some citas, date some girls, and experience that angle of it. For anyone traveling to Colombia, or any LA Country to find a girl, the thing is to keep an open mind and be realistic. If you want to find cute girl in one night that will SEEM to be crazy about you, you can do it in about one hour there. But finding a quality woman that REALLY likes you for you is another story. Thanks again.

I'm glad you had a good time but you paid out the ass for very little value.  

If having a bunch of desperate green card sharks mixed in with very few nice girls trying to con you into a fast marriage is your idea of fun then go for it.

You are very green and ripe for a scam.  Read these archives and get some education.

Did you know that Bruce sells his tours to guys in the lobby for less than half of what you paid?

Thanks for your comments, but your perceived value may be different that mine, no? You are dead on about the quality of girls there, the mix, etc. But as I said I really just wanted to see the event. Life is about experiences, no? I would say if someone put all their eggs in one basket and went to a TLC party hoping to get married, they would probably find themselves a girl alright, but would probably miss out on better opportunities. For the experience was worth the cost. As others mentioned, you can throw a rock in any direction in Cali and hit 5 beautiful woman, at the Mall, in McDonalds, in a club etc. They are all friendly and easy to approach. In the end I will be continuing my relationships with a doctor in Bogota and a beautiful Paisa in Medellin. I didn't meet either of them at TLC. But then I didn't expect to :-) I had a lot of fun at the parties, and that was what I wanted from the experience. Thanks again~

That sounds like an excellent idea.  Study Spanish and take your time.  I hope you find happiness.
