Title: It is not easy being Bruce... Post by: papi on June 24, 2005, 04:00:00 AM Today I get a call from a bozo from Detroit, 61 asking me about my "junket" to Panama. Junkets for the uninitiated usually apply to complimentary (comp) or inclusive gambling trips. This clown thinks that he is going to get AIR, hotel, parties, etc., all for $495. He was disappointed to learn the tour does not include air – hell the airplane alone is probably more than the tour. Anyway, "Clueless in Detroit" then goes on to tell me how he is frustrated because he is constantly experiencing rejection – and wants to know if I can help him or offer suggestions for better dating success in Detroit. I am tryin to sell f..g tours to Panama and Clueless is asking me for dating tips on the homefront. Finally, he tells me he is Jewish (no Jewish cracks please) and wants to know if I have Jewish women in the agency. Dios Mio!

You'll see much worse over the years of you stay in this business. One other thing- You always start out with your buddies giving you the "atta boy, finally an honest agency run right." That fades over the years and one day you too will be the target of (earned, or unearned) critism and claims that you are a rip-off, etc. Your buddies will no longer be around. Oh yea, unless you go into this full time with a lot of effort and marketing savy, you'll lose money! You'll lose money the first year or two anyway. There are very few agencies that earn a real living for anyone. At least anyone who wants to live in the US. I think TLC and AFA do okay. Most others would generate a poverty level (by US standards) income. The better you do, the more critism you'll receive. I found TLC to be completely up front when I used them. I only ordred their catalogs and wrote to women. Tours and agencies where you interview women never appealed to me. I always wanted as little to do with any type of match making service as possible. TLC delivered a large quantity of addresses at reasonable price which I used to contact my wife. Addresses is what they promised, and that's what they delivered. I think many men expect way too much. When they don't get what they expect, they call you a rip-off. Based on experience, I'd say around 75% of the scam/rip-off claims are either exagerations, misunderstanding, or simply men who expected way more than they should. When it comes to "mail order brides" some men expect delivery to be included. Title: Re: Re: It is not easy being Bruce... "full time with a lot of effort and marketing savy, you'll lose money" I am not so sure Patrick even with the full time and market savy. I think things have changed a lot since the glory days. Too many choices. I would be a lot more willing to invest more money if I felt this was a business - at least for the new guy on the street, but I really have my doubts. I am completely confused on what to do next Title: Re: Re: It is not easy being Bruce... Will agree with you at this. I was at Latin Best one time and this puny looking guy 5' 4'', about 50 was mad at Luz because this model looking girl did not like him. This girl was 5'8'' 25 years old and stunning!! He was telling Luz what kind of angency is she running here and wanted his money back just because this girl did not like him. Blaming the agency for this model type not wanting him. I believe this guy used to post here under the name of Salbert or something. If the agencies give you introductions of girls that are truly interested in a relationship then they have done there job to me. The rest is on me and my decisions. I don't want to pay 1000's of dollars for introductions either. Title: Re: It is not easy being Bruce... By the way, there are quite a few jewish people in panama as well as central and south america... is it not out of the realm of reason that one of them might join your agency?
