Before my  charectors turned into japanese  script.

I  think  I  was  about to lament  how  I  wished that I  could read  the  japanese  girls minds.

###  are  they  scared  of  my  size  in  comparison  to  them.

###  are  they  interested  in  talking with  me   but  scared  due  
    to  the language  barrier

###  Won`t approach  me  to  chat  because  it  is  not  culturally
    acceptable to  do  so.

    ha ha.

I  was getting  slightly  bummed  about  the  lack  of  approachability  with  all of the good looking japanese women  I  see  in  the population.  Although  all  of my  interactions  have been  very  nice  so  far with  the  ones I  have talked with.

----  When  what  to  my  wondering  eyes   should  appear....  than  a little  woman  named  Miho  waving  to  me  outside  of  the  front  window just as my script turned  into Japanese.

Miho  is  my  5  fooot  tall  29  single  friend  in fukuoka  that  I  was  to  meet  tomorrow  (and still  will).  I  just  took  her  out  to  dinner  for  italian  and I  had  a  very nice  time  with  her  though  the  language barrier  is a little  challenging.  But she is  bubbly  and  a fun  person.  It  was  a  nice  surprise  to  see  her  tonight unexpectedly. Though  not  a head turner she is  kind  of  cute  and  an  instant  friend  I think.  Tomorrow  she will drive  me to Nagasaki  to  show  me  her  home  turf.

Well  now  it  is  time  to  watch some  more of  that really bizarre japanese  TV.

I met a jap girl here in USA, her name Meho, we only lasted one date , but I was dying to introduce her to some of my friend s say, "have you met meho?" his response would be, "you got a ho too, that great, so do I"

Hey WB,

Enjoy your trip and don't let the ladies bum you out! It reminds me of a scene from the Tom Green Show. Tom acts up and falls down in a Tokyo subway stairway. Hundreds of people step over him unamused, hardly seeming to notice. Only one or two people showed any interest and started laughing. Good Luck!

Hi Wind,

It’s nice to hear from you. What are you doing watching TV with all those nice women running around over there? You should be out chasing skirts!

I think you worry too much. I never had any trouble meeting nice Japanese girls when I was there. Here are some of my secret tips to help you out:

1. Go for the ugly ones.

2. Hang a big sign around your neck that says “FREE ENGLISH LESSONS”.

3. Find out where the merchant seamen hang out. The girls are always more “approachable” in those parts of town. Bring mucho Yen.

4. Walk around and look lost. Wait for a young lady to approach you and ask if you need help.

5. Hang out around the U.S. military bases.

6. If all else fails, jump on the next plane to Cebu.

I'd avoid GIs and merchant seamen in Japan (no offense JoeMc and Ray) if it were me - but the English Lessons sign is a great idea. I have an American friend working in Japan who used to hitchhike all over the country with a sign in Japanese "Will trade English lessons for a ride" while he was in graduate school in Tokyo. And Ray's idea of looking lost is another good one. Stand on a busy street corner with an open map - it's by far the easiest way to meet Japanese.

Hi Ray,

ROFLMAOCUML! I was thinking along the same lines, but lack your experience in meeting "nice" Japanese girls. LOL Maybe if WB became a sumo star, he would attract about as much attention as he would in Cebu on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, (apart from the "karaoke bars filled with foreign "entertainers" and areas surrounding US miltary bases) I think Japanese culture is very interesting and am a big (well...medium) sumo fan as well. But, for meeting lots of potential marriage minded women, a plane ride to Cebu or the Philippines could change one's life. If I got noticed, WB would definately be a Big Star with his looks.

There is a bit of xenophobia in the Japanese culture.
There is a history of a superiority complex among the elderly Japanese and they look down on relationships with
'outsiders'. I hope I'm not overstating this, but I've heard this for some years now, and it still is, to some extent, in place.
