I am writing a penpal in Mandaue. I will be traveling there in June. I would like to stay at a relatively inexpensive hotel, preferably on the water in Mandaue or Mactan. I am also considering  staying in Cebu. Dose anyone have any suggestions? I would like to have AC, TV, clean, and quite. I am on a budget so I would prefer to spend thirty dollars or less. Thanks in advance, Capt david

My favorite is Eddies Hotel in Cebu. About $20 a night, nice place, good people, good location. Have tried several other places both more and less expensive, but always wind up back at Eddies.  Larry.

The Restaurant at Eddies serves really good steaks and
other American style food.  An added bonus is that it is open
24 hours.  I was there at 3 in the morning many times while
my body adjusted to the time difference.

H.R. Hotel near the bridge. Under $30.00 and you'll have lots of friends with you in bed
at night. (mosquitoes)... Don't stay there I did for my first night of arrival.

Try www.asiatravel.com
www.asia-travel.com
I did and they are great. Say hi to Corie with asia travel cebu office.

Have fun.

We stayed at the Marriot in Cebu. Absolutly beautiful and comfortable hotel. I think it equated to about US $30-35 a night. Unbelievable.

Actually P2,800 on Asia travel so around $53.00 per night.
A great hotel with new rooms. May be worth the extra drive to cebu and the $$$.
Mog if you paid less please let me know through what source.
THANKS

Taliman, I just checked my receipts. Marriot Cebu City. They charged me 1400 pesos a night. There was a Marriot sign at the SuperCat dock where we disembarked that said if you were a passenger you could get the special price there with your stubs. They never asked to see them anyway... We took the Cat in from Ormoc.

Usually you get the best rate not through advance reservation, but by showing up at the front desk and asking for a "discount". With the dismal tourist situation, virtually every hotel will give steep disounts!
