Anybody have any ideas on a possible place to meet my novia? I would like to try and meet in a place she can go without a hassle or visa. I've done San Andres - and looking into that again for a return trip. I thought about Panama but there is not all that much going on in Panama City. Just looking for some ideas, possible resort places

As of the 15th of December, you just breached the high season for travel in Colombia.  Still, it's likely that your best price option is to go to Colombia and meet her there rather than try to jerry-rig a reunion in other country type deal.  If budget is a concern, your departure city is what dictates the deal.

If you haven't tried Santa Marta or Cartagena, those are both resort towns and you can still swing some deals - some travel agencies in Colombia have booked charter flights and have spare seats available at good rates.  For example, I saw advertised at several agencies in Cali last week prices from $499 (pesos) for all-inclusive deals 3/4 with/air to those destinations in January.

Another option you may wan't to consider is the flip-side of meeting half-way ~ some spots where you she may not need a visa but will require a little ingenuity on your behalf (hint Cuba).

I met my novia in Panama City the first time we ever met. i was too chicken to go to Colombia. We met in Tocumen International Airport outside Immigration. The next day we flew to Boquete and stayed there for about a week. it is very peaceful up in the mountains. I stayed at la Via Lactia. Pilar the owner is very nice and helpful speaks Spanish Italian and English. Nice Hotel. Other Options could be Costa Rica Quepos is like Hawaii without the a;; the people and prices or Equador. I am going to Cartagena in January with my novia. She is very excited to go I am just going to try and make the best of the heat and Humidity. It should be a great time. Venezuela's Margarita Island is nice y Los Roques is very secluded and romantic.
You have a lot of choices. I was going to take her to the Mayan Riviera but Mexico immigration is ridiculus so that was not an option. The Dominican Republic is also a good option.

One of the problems with her going to Panama is if she is going there unaccompanied to meet you. The Panamanians have not been happy with the numbers of Colombian "working" girls there so they are suspicious of young attractive Colombianas travelling there alone. I have heard of recent cases where they had to show that they had $US 500 and a return ticket.

Well, it's doable as long as she's got the cash.

Try the Decameron resort in Panama.  Part of the Colombian Decameron chain. It's about 2 hours from the Airport.  They will pick you up at the airport. All inclusive...great beaches.  Stayed there for about 4 days in August.  600 rooms, 5 restaraunts to choose from (included in package), nightly shows which are pretty funny and in English and Spanish.  The first show is for kids where they get all the kids on stage and have them dancing and doing funny stuff...it was really funny.  Very family oriented place.  Lots of Canadians go there.  They have daily tours to various places around Panama, including a trip to the canal zone. You can do a search on the internet for reviews, etc.  Buena Suerte.

Also, there are lots of colombians there so, the novia will feel comfortable.  Only an hour plane ride from Bogota.
